Four days passed, and life seemed to fall back into its usual rhythm at the mansion. Jungkook, Taehyung, and their children, Jiwoo and Taehee, continued to enjoy their time together, each day blending into the next with laughter, love, and a little bit of chaos. Taehyung, as always, found a way to balance work with family life, ensuring that his little ones felt loved while still dealing with the stresses of his job. Hyejin, on the other hand, had been trying, albeit subtly, to find a way to coax Jungkook into spending some alone time with her, away from the constant presence of the children. But no matter what she did, Taehee and Jiwoo were always near, their bond with their parents unshakeable.

Today was another such day. Jungkook, sitting by the kitchen counter, was on the phone with his mother, trying to keep the conversation light and lively while still attending to his family’s needs. The children were gathered around their father, Taehyung, who was reciting one of his favorite moral stories. His deep voice held the children’s attention, their wide eyes glued to him as they absorbed the lesson he was imparting. "Once upon a time, there was a king who ruled not with power, but with kindness..." Taehyung’s voice flowed smoothly, his words painting vivid pictures in the minds of his little ones. Jiwoo leaned closer to her father, her hands clasped around her knees, while Taehee sat on the floor, completely absorbed in the story.

Hyejin, however, sat beside them, her attention not entirely on the story. Instead, her eyes flicked between the phone screen and the family around her, clearly deep in thought, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she fiddled with her phone. Jungkook’s voice cut through the air, and she looked over, sensing that something had shifted.

"Yes, mumma... Oh... um... okay... Yeh, yes, yes... Ask him yourself," Jungkook said, his tone taking on a slightly playful, almost pouty note. He stretched his arm over to Taehyung, handing him the phone.

Taehyung looked at him in mild confusion. "Yes, pretty?" he asked, the playful nickname slipping from his lips without thought.

Jungkook blushed, looking away for a moment, embarrassed by the softness of the moment. "Mumma wants to ask if I’m taking good care of you or not," he said, unable to stop the faint smile that formed at the mention of his mother’s concern for their relationship.

Taehyung chuckled at his words, clearly amused. "Of course, let me answer her," he said, and with a swift motion, he took the phone, his tone light and affectionate as he addressed Jungkook’s mother. "Is that the beautiful lady on the other side I am talking to?"

Mrs. Jeon’s voice rang through the phone, warm but teasing, "At least leave me alone, had my son already into your first. Leave this old lady to rest."

Taehyung laughed softly, a genuine warmth in his voice. "Mom, you’re still very young and pretty," he replied, winking at Jungkook who was still sitting nearby, watching his husband with a fond gaze.

Meanwhile, the children, sensing the shift in attention, rushed over to their father. "Granny! Taehee miss you!" Taehee shouted, his little face lighting up as he tried to get closer to the phone. Jiwoo, always enthusiastic, chimed in right after, "Granny, Jiwoo too miss you!"

Mrs. Jeon’s laughter echoed through the speaker. "Oh really? Is it me or the chocolate and food store nearby you miss?" she teased, a knowing hint in her voice. The children giggled in response, clearly amused by their grandmother’s playful jabs.

Jungkook smiled at the sound of his mother’s laughter. He glanced at Hyejin, who had remained quietly observant up until now. "Eomma, Hyejin noona is also here," he added, his words gentle but with a slight edge of amusement.

Mrs. Jeon’s tone shifted to one of curiosity and warmth. "Oh, my niece..." she began, the smile in her voice evident even though it was over the phone.
