Y / N 'S P O V

It has been a week since I came to Seoul. A week of doing literally nothing. I was waiting for my results to be out so I could peacefully join the hospital and get on with my work. Not gonna lie, staying at home bored me to death, and my father's absence just made me feel suffocated.

Currently, I was on my third snack of the day. Freshly baked cookies. I love eating, but ironically, I never put my mind into cooking. Food. I blame it on my father because he pampered me a lot, and then my mother who stopped nagging me to learn cooking.

Letting out a sigh, I sit at my desk and open my laptop to fill up some applications for the job. As I open the browser, an article pops up on my screen. The name in the bold letter gets my attention, making my heart skip several beats.

Park Jimin.

I narrowed my eyes and tap on the article to read it. There was a body found in the woods six days ago in the evening. It's still unrecognizable as the cops haven't found anything yet. Park Jimin, known to be the lethal and most intelligent detective in the city, was handling the case. So far, the speculations made by citizens and other officers were that this was yet another case of murder done by a serial killer whose identity is still unknown.

My breath caught in my throat as I read through the article. They found the body on the same day when Jimin came to pick me up at the exam center. I blink my eyes, my mind reeling the memories of that evening when he just snapped at me.

Very asshole of him, if you ask me.

But now, as I sit and read the article while remembering Jimin's words, I kind of understand him. "Jeez. Why are you everywhere, Park Jimin?" I muttered, smashing my fingers into the keyboards as I exit the article and focus on the task at the hand but no matter what I did, my brain kept taking me back to the article, the name-less body, the dark woods, the serial killer and the man with the most beautiful eyes that I've ever seen but they aren't same anymore.

I let out a groan and shut the laptop while leaning back in my chair. The mention of a serial killer sent a shiver down my spine. Seoul was a big city, but the idea of someone lurking in the shadows, preying on unsuspecting victims, made it feel small and suffocating. I couldn't help but wonder what kind of person would be capable of such horrors and whether they were closer than anyone realized.

I tried to ignore the feeling coiling inside me,twisting my guts. Shaking my head, I grab my hoodie, put it on, and then walk out of my room. "Where are you going?" My mother questions from the living room as I rush my steps. "Out for some coffee." I state, sliding my ankles into the slippers. "You know, we can make coffee at home, too." My mother says, sarcastically.

I huff out and look at her. "I know,Mom, but I...just wanna go out." I don't let her speak further and turn to leave the house. The cold yet warm evening air hits my face, causing me to inhale a sharp breath. I exhale softly, stuffing my hands in my pockets and then look up at the sky , taking up the several shades of orange and hues of yellows.
