Few Days Later

I stood in front of the mirror, carefully applying my lipbalm.

Once done, I smacked my lips together, smiling softly at my reflection.

My little moment of self-appreciation was interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing.

I quickly swiped to answer, holding the phone between my ear and shoulder as I closed the lip balm.

Y/n - "Yes, Tae?"

I responded, already turning towards the closet to grab my bag.

"I just dropped Taerin. You ready?"

Tae's voice came through the speaker.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm ready... Come quickly,"

I said, pulling out my purse and checking for all my essentials.

"Five minutes,"
he replied before I hummed and ended the call.

I glanced at the mirror one last time.

My eyes drifted down to my lower abdomen, and a nervous smile tugged at my lips.

I gently placed my hand over it.

Today was my first sonography.
I was excited but nervous.
I silently hoped everything would be okay.

Taking a deep breath, I turned and walked out of the room.

As I stepped into the hall, I spotted abeoji sitting at the dining table, scrolling through his phone while waiting for breakfast.

I walked over with a bright smile.

Y/n - "Good morning, abeoji!"

He looked up, his face softening with a warm smile.

Abeoji - "Good morning, Y/n. Heading out somewhere?"
His eyes scanned my outfit curiously.

I took the seat beside him, pouring myself a glass of water.

Y/n - "Yeah... I have some things to take care of,"
I replied, keeping my tone light.

Tae and I had decided not to share the news about the pregnancy until after the scans. We wanted to be sure everything was okay first.

Just then, Mrs. Hwang arrived with abeoji's breakfast.

Y/n - "Good morning, Mrs. Hwang,"

I greeted, earning a kind smile from her.

Abeoji - "Alone?"

Y/n - "No, Tae's coming. I'm going with him."

Mrs. Hwang - "Y/n, should I bring you some breakfast too?"
