Aurora
My stomach churned as if even my body was repulsed of setting a foot on this land.
As I looked upon the horizon the darkness lingered, our houses hidden in shadows that hadn't been there before.
It was as if all life had been drained from the area. There was no lone bird flying across the sky, not even an ant crawling across the wet soil. No, it was utterly and dangerously lifeless.
I felt a presence behind me that spread warmth across my skin even though I was freezing. Without turning around I knew that it was him.For a moment I allowed myself some time to become acclimated to this. To a totally different world to what I once called my home.
In the morning
It was freezingly cold today but since winter was coming soon it wasn't that odd. Those cold days were coming more frequently now and even though I disliked the cold it couldn't seem to bother me right now.
With a smile on my face I turned away from the window of my dorm, shutting it so our room would stay warm and cozy.
Blayze was busy ignoring me but that wasn't out of the ordinary either.
During the last days I had learned that she was absolutely no morning person.
Although the longer I was staying here the more she seemed to warm up to me the atmosphere was still tense in the mornings, making me miss waking up with Ronan. Now that I was staying in the dorms I couldn't just sleep wherever I wanted anymore or else it wouldn't be long until someone would notice.
Was it a crime to love someone? No, but loving him would definitely put a target onto my back and we both didn't need that right now.The tranquil atmosphere was interrupted by loud footsteps in front of the door and then suddenly Cindy returned pale as a ghost. The door banged against the wall as she ran towards her bed, grabbing stuff from her closet.
Startled we just watched her, waiting for her to explain what was going on. Her lips were drawn into a fine line, creases changing her face into a grimace of fear.
There were more footsteps and whispers in the hall now but I couldn't understand what was going on.
"What the fuck is going on, Cindy?" Blayze broke the silence, her patience wearing thin in the morning.
Cindy stopped in her rushed movements, putting her trembling hands to her side.
"There's been a mass attack. The capital, the gryphons and the witches. They're all calling for help" she said in a thin voice.
