"Hey, Blake. Wake up!" Blake turned away from the voice, trying to ignore it. "Blake! Get your ass up!" Blake groaned, opening his eyes. Adam leaned over him, already fully dressed in a black t-shirt and jeans. "Get ready." He said, standing up again. "It's almost noon, and Julie is going to be here in half an hour." He ran back upstairs, and Blake flopped back down onto his pillow, sighing.Ten minutes later, Blake was dressed in a blue button up shirt and jeans. He sat down on the couch next to Adam, who was looking through and writing in a notebook. After a few seconds, Blake leaned over.
"What are you writing?" Adam jumped, abruptly slamming the notebook closed.
"Nothing." He put the book down next to him, away from Blake.
"Why can't I see?" Blake asked, leaning over him and trying to get a look at the notebook.
"Because it's none of your business." Adam snapped, grabbing the book and putting it behind him protectively.
"Okay, fine. Just curious, is all." Blake replied, holding his hands up in a sign of surrender. After a couple more seconds of silence, he spoke up again. "Hey, you remember my idea yesterday, of us doing a song together? How about we go in and try a few things, to pass the time?"
Adam sighed.
"Fine. Just to pass the time."
They stood up, going into the music room. The black stool was still in the middle of the room, as well as a music stand. There were five guitars on stands, two acoustic, a jet black base guitar, and two electric, one red and one blue. Adam's guitar laid on the ground, still in its case. He walked over, picking it up and unzipping it. He pulled out a golden guitar, sparkling in the light. Shoving the strap over his head, he leaned on the stand, absentmindedly strumming.
"Aren't you going to get me one?" Blake asked, crossing his arms expectantly.
"This is your studio, after all.""No, it's our studio. You can get your own damn guitar." Adam replied nonchalantly, plucking at his guitar.
Blake groaned, walking over the stands.
He picked up one of the acoustics, then went to stand next to Adam, who sighed.
"Sit on the stool you idiot." He said, looking up at him. Blake sat down onto the stool awkwardly, as Adam watched him.
"So, what do you want to play?" Blake asked. Adam scoffed.
"You were the one who dragged me in here, you decide."
"You know, you don't have to be so rude about it." Blake replied, annoyed.
"Whatever. What are we playing?"
"Hmmmm.." Blake mumbled, thinking.
"Ugh, you take too long." Adam groaned. He began to strum chords on his guitar. After a few seconds, he started to sing.Right from the start
You were a thief , you stole my heart
And I, your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed themBlake started singing, as Adam stopped.
Now you been talking in your sleep, oh oh
Things you never say to me, oh oh
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our loveThey sung together now, in perfect harmony.
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love againTheir voices faded out, and Adam slowly stopped strumming. The last chord rang out, slowly diminishing until silence filled the room again.
They were both silent for a while.
Adam slowly lifted his guitar strap over his head and placed the instrument on the floor. He walked over to the stool, standing in front of it. Blake took his guitar off, placing in on the ground.
They looked into each other's eyes, and Adam smiled. Adam leaned down, and before Blake could say anything, kissed him on the lips. The older man froze, shocked. After a few seconds, however, he relaxed, kissing Adam back. They stayed there for several seconds before there was a knock on the door. Blake sighed.
"Why now?"
Adam smiled against Blake's lips.
"We'll continue this later." He mumbled, slowly disconnecting his lips from Blake's and standing up. Blake looked up at him, pouting. Adam laughed, walking over and opening the door.
"Hey Julie!" He greeted, smiling and running his hand through his hair. He shot a glance at Blake, who stood up and walked over, rolling his eyes. "What's up?"
"Well I figured, since you guys might be staying here for a while, we should go get some new furniture or something. Spruce the place up a little.""Sounds like a great idea!" Adam replied, smiling.
Blake groaned, earning a kick in the shin from Adam.
"Fine." Blake groaned, glaring at Adam. "Can we at least get something to eat first?"
"Dude, no. Let's just go. I'm not even hungry anyway." His stomach growled loudly, and Blake smiled.
"You sure sound hungry, and I'm pretty hungry too. Let's go eat." Julie replied.
"I know this great burger place across town." Blake added, earning a glare from Adam.
"Great! See you guys there!" Julie called, leaving.
"See you!" Blake called, waving.
Adam turned towards him.
"I really hate you, you know that?"
"Yep." Blake said smiling, reaching down and ruffling the shorter man's hair.
"Hey!" Adam yelled, shoving his hands away. Blake laughed, walking out the door. Adam followed behind him, smiling to himself. They went outside to Blake's truck, and Adam went to the passenger side. As he made his way around, he noticed Blake standing next to the door holding it open. Smiling and blushing, he got into the car, Blake closing it behind him. Blake got into the driver's seat, starting up the car.
They drove out of the parking lot and onto the road. They were both silent, Blake looking towards the road, Adam staring out the window. After several minutes of silence, Blake cleared his throat, making Adam jump. He laughed, and a small smile formed on Adam's face.
"So..." Adam mumbled looking down.
"Are we....you know.."
"Dating?" Blake asked. Adam blushed.
"Yeah....dating?"
"Do you want us to be dating?"
"Um....yeah."
"Then yes. We are dating." Adam face brightened, and he slumped down into his seat.
"Good. God, that was stressful" Blake laughed, turning the wheel to pull into the restaurant.
"We're here.....babe." Adam smirked.
"Babe?"
"Yeah, wanted to try that out. Do you like it?" Blake asked.
Adam unbuckled his seatbelt, leaning over. He pressed a kiss onto Blake's lips, smiling.
"It's perfect."
