Chapter 93: Marriage Fixed

It is a sunny morning, Yibo and I both are at home. Finally. Yes.

"Wait here, I'll cook some food for you." I say.

Yibo : Oh sure, you seem even more excited about it today.

We occasionally cook for each other but that's very simple things which anyone can make. Today is different.

I say: You'll see.

I cook two dishes and put them in front of him. Of course I had never made them before.
Yibo is surprised.

"When did you learn them? Watched a recipe?"

"No. I was learning to cook. I attended a class too when you were overseas. He is a renowned chef. I got some training. Now, I'm practicing at home. I'll make food for you everyday. Good and healthy food." I smile. The teacher said I learnt just fine, so I'm a bit confident. At least, my food won't make Yibo throw up or get a stomach ache.

Yibo is now even more surprised. Yea I didn't tell him before. I learnt secretly so that I can see this face. Hi hi.

He suddenly sprang up on his seat and bowed to me.
"I'll be in your care. Thank you for making food for me."

"Eh? Why are you being too formal? Of course, I should do this much for you. You have done countless things for me. On the other side I didn't..."

"He covers my mouth, you being by my side is more than enough. You don't know how much it means to me."

"Probably I don't. But you also don't know what it means to me to have you by my side."

"Ah fine fine. Come and sit. I want to eat with you."

I sit then say, "Try my cooking first, tell me how it is."

"Right. The colour and the scent are already so good!" He eats a bit, "Ummm... It's awesome! I'm feeling even more hungry. It's superb."

He quickens his eating. It's so satisfying to see.

"The chef taught you these!!"

"Hm. He taught us his signature dish too. But he actually taught us many daily recipes and tips to make a food tastier. So, I tried something for you today."

"Oh that's great."

"Hm, There were only four male and 21 female students in the class. The chef asked everyone why they wanted to learn how to cook.

Among the four boys, one said he wanted to open a shop. His parents currently own a shop but are unable to maintain it, so he wants to start anew. Another boy expressed his love for cooking. The third boy mentioned that he is a student and wants to cook for his mother, who works every day to support his studies.I didn't expect to share my reasoning, but I admitted that I want to make nutritious and tasty meals for my partner, who needs healthy food every day.The chef taught us how to prepare simple dishes as well as how certain foods are made in restaurants. He also showed us how to modify recipes to keep them simple and healthy by skipping some ingredients."
