(CANCELLED) Blue And Green (Lapidot)

Taking flight

Lapis was still worried after the encounter with the crystal gems, Peridot always stiffened whenever Lapis would start freaking out, she never dealt with negative emotions too well.

After a while, Peridot began wondering where they were and if the other gems would follow them.

"Peri?" Lapis whispered. Peridot flinched when Lapis called her that, she disliked nicknames.

"Yes..?" Peridot answered

"What did you do with Jasper's gem..?"

"I left it on the beach. Why?"

"She might reform.. We'll have to go back."

"But the other gems are there!"

"And so is Steven, we can't let Jasper attack him or the others!"

"Fine.." Peridot sighed "But how will we get there?"

"We can fly!" Lapis summoned her wings and hovered in the air, she looked down at Peridot "Wait.. You can't fly.."

"I can, but not to well." Peridot spun her detached fingers until they resembled the blades of a helicopter and she hovered into the air next to Lapis. "See?"

Lapis laughed and she flew up higher, looking around to see where they were. Beach city was about half an hour away. She and Peridot flew over to the beach, they landed on top of the temple.

Lapis scanned the beach, she couldn't see any sign of the orange gem anywhere.

"Maybe the Garnet bubbled it?" Lapis tried to look on the bright side

"That won't be the case.." Peridot frowned "The gems aren't back, yet. I saw them near the wreckage when we flew over here.."

"Wait, so she could just be out there now?!" 

"Yes, but I think she went to find someone else first.." Peridot jumped off the temple, landing near the house, she turned and ran to the doorway, Lapis followed her.

Lapis was about to knock on the door when a small boy answered

"Lapis!" Steven practically shouted, he was so exited to see she was okay.

"Steven, have you seen Jasper anywhere?" Lapis asked. Peridot stood behind her, hoping to go un-noticed. 

"No, I- Lapis! Behind you! It's Peridot!" Steven cried out

"It's okay, she's helping me." Lapis laughed

"Really..?" Steven was still scared by Peridot being near him, he still remembered how she had tried to squash him, and how she trapped Lapis in the cell.

"Yes.." Lapis nodded and turned to Peridot "We best be going, now."

"Yeah. We should find Jasper." Peridot looked serious, she and Lapis were about to exit when they heard the smash of a boulder, then footsteps up the stairs, Lapis turned around to see Jasper walking towards them, she was holding her Gem Destabilizer.

"You made a bad choice, trying to fight me, Peridot." She growled

Peridot clenched her fists and stepped infront of Steven and Lapis. "Don't even think about hurting them.."

Jasper charged at Peridot and flailed her Destabilizer at her, Peridot managed to dodge Jasper's attacks mostly, but she often scraped the edge of the weapon, giving her a mild shock. Peridot jumped at Jasper, but she didn't consider how fast the other gem could move, Jasper quickly stabbed Peridot in the stomach and her whole body lit up with a yellow light, she eventually dissapeared in a puff of smoke, her gem clinking as it hit the ground.

Lapis looked terrified as Jasper approached her

"You're next." She said, holding the destabilizer back and glaring at the blue gem.
