It had been a few hours since Reggie showed up to the club to talk to Callie. And while it was the best time she had in a while, simply being there with the boy, his blue eyes filled with empathy as he watched her speak about the trouble she had gone through...
It had made her more desperate than ever when he spoke that he had to go.
"Where are... Where are you going?" She spoke frantically, standing as the taller boy did, following him as he stepped back.
"Cal... I can't stay here forever, you know that.." Reggie says softly, his hand coming to rest on her shoulder, causing the girl to swallow.
"But... But you just got here, and..." Callie shook her head, looking at him through glassy eyes. "I don't want you to go." She mumbles.
He swallows himself, lightly bringing her into a hug, his hand resting on the back of her head as he closes his eyes. "I'll come back. Promise." He says softly, hesitating before pressing a gentle kiss to the top of her head.
Watching him poof away from her was the hardest thing she had to do in a long time. And she had been constantly tortured for the past three months.
She had just stood there, watching where he had been standing only a moment ago, tears streaming slowly down her face as she sniffled.
She slowly stepped back away from the spot she was talking to the boy, turning back to look at the edge of the building, swallowing as she looked at the people, small in her sight.
If she wasn't already dead...
She shook her head, talking a sharp breath as she stumbled back. She couldn't think like that... She couldn't.
She couldn't give up.
She looked back over, watching the people, looking at a girl walking across the street, idle smile on her face, wires in her ears as she walked along, dancing choreography Callie didn't recognize. She had brown hair, light skin, and a pink hoodie wrapped around her waist, and a duffel bag strung along her shoulder, with words she couldn't read from far away. She didn't look more than sixteen.
If only she could be like her. Free. Careless.
Happy.
She closed her eyes, taking a breath, that girl and her happy face resting at the forefront of her mind, and-
She felt tingly, and she had opened her eyes, looking down at her hands, which were fading into purple fog, much to her alarm. Before she could back away, as if she could run from the way her body was fading, it traveled upwards, eating her arms, dragging the tingly feeling up her skin and body, and everything seemed to fade out for a few seconds.
When she opened her eyes, she was on the ground again. And something felt... Off.
Callie looked at her hands, noticing the slightly paler skin, the painted nails, and she looked up, touching her face in confusion. There was no raised skin, no pain as she poked at her skin. She felt around her ears, pulling the wires out as she followed the line, connecting to what looked like a phone.
She searched for the power button, frustrated when she found out there was a passcode that needed to be entered. She frowned, before a memory popped up at the back of her mind. She dug for it, before entering what looked like a birthday into the code bar.
031678.
When the phone unlocked for her, she swiped uncertainly, searching for anything that could help her. She clicked on the square she saw that had a camera icon on it, noticing the way it faces the ground and her feet.
