I followed Abbey out the door. "Hey! Wait!" I called after her. I had to see if she knew anything. She turned around. "My cousin. Her name is Maddie. I think," I looked around. "I think a vampire took her. "I lied. I just needed her help. And protection. She stared at me. "Description." She said pulling out a pen and paper. Uh-oh. I thought about it. The red head. "It was the vampire we just saw. It was her. I know it." Abbey stared at me. Her eyes studying me. "Are you sure?" She asked. I nodded. "Okay. I need to go to your home for clues. Is that okay?" She asked. "Clues? On what? I already told you who it was." I stated. "I know, but I need clues on where to find her. Vampires like her leave marks around homes they abducted from. Vampires like her would most likely leave a Gimber mark." We started to walk to my house. "Gimber mark?" I asked. She nodded. "Gimber vampires live mostly in area like this. But I have to make sure. And if it is a Gimber mark. I know exactly where to go." She was smart. Really smart. It scared me. What if she found out about me? What then?

We walked into my house. "Angela, I'm home. And I brought help." I yelled through the house. Angela ran in from the kitchen. "Really? Oh thank god! I-" She looked at Abbey. Then me. "Help?" She asked. "A vampire took your daughter. I'm a vampire slayer. I'm going to help you find her." Abbey broke the silence. Angela's eyes widened and looked at me. "I need to see Maddie's room Ms.Angela." Abbey said. "Up stairs." Angela replied still looking at me. Abbey made her way to the stairs and went up. "

"A vampire slayer!" Angela whispered angrily. "Are you crazy! News flash Edward! Your a vampire!" I shrugged. "She won't find out." I said. "Oh my god. This is bad Edward! Your dead meat if she finds out!" I headed for the stairs and looked at Angela. "Once again Angela, she won't find out." I went up.

Abbey scanned Maddie's room. She went through every drawer, closet, and toy box there was in her room. Nothing. "I don't think it was her." She looked at me. "What did you say your name was?" She asked. "Edward." I told her. "Are you sure?" Abbey took a quick look around the room. "Is there anywhere else you think the vampire might have been?" I looked down the hall to my room. She followed my glance and nodded. I feared her going into my room. What if she finds something? It doesn't matter now. I could hear her gasp.

"She was here!" She yelled. My hearts slowed it's pace. I ran to my room and Abbey held a piece of paper. "It's a letter. To, you." She said. I took it from her hand and began to read silently.

I know you have your vampire slayer friend with you Edward. But does she know who and what you are? It's too bad I couldn't stay and chat at the abandoned home. I would really much like to  speak to you. Do you remember me Edward? You know, pretty girl who likes to dance? The girl who took you behind the school? Ha-ha. Let me get straight to the point. Yes I have Maddie. But no she is not in any danger once so ever. At least not yet. I'm guessing you want her back? Well, there's something that has to be done first. Something you have to do. But in the meantime, you will wait. You do not follow my rules, then you will not see Maddie again. Count on it.- Miranda

My heart raced. Miranda. That was her name. "What does it say?" Abbey asked reaching her hand out to take it. I snatched it away from her. "Nothing." I said. "Did you find the Gimber mark?" I asked her. She nodded. "Right next to that note." "Do you know where she is?" I asked. She nodded. "Yes I do." "Are you going to go slay her?" I asked. "Not now. I have to wait. If I go now, she'll be expecting me. And she'll be ready. She'll have back up. And I'll die." She said. "AND WHAT ABOUT MADDIE!?" I yelled. "SHE HASN'T EVEN LIVED HALF HER LIFE AND YOUR WILLING TO WAIT? GO! GO AND FIND HER." I yelled angry. "I can't!" She yelled back. I looked at her disbelievingly. "Fine. Where is she? I'll go and find her." Abbey looked at me sadly and shook her head. "No, not alone your not." She said. "You're going to have to wait Edward. It's either that or all of us die. You, me, and Maddie."

I hated to admit it, but she was right. I would have to wait it out.
