"So how long have you been a vampire slayer?" I asked Abbey.

She decided to camp out at our house, just in case the vampire showed up. I felt like I was being wrong for not going out and calling the police for Maddie. But if I did anything, Miranda would for sure kill Maddie. Or worse.

"5 years." She answered pulling out a knife. I flinched. I couldn't imagine her using that on me. Ouch. "How old are you?" I asked her curiously. "14." She said flatly. Since she was 9? What in the world? Doesn't she have a life? Parents? "Wow." I said. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. I shrugged.

"What about you? How long have you been wanted by a killer vampire?" She asked with a smirk. "Since the end of 6th grade." I said smiling. "Now that's a wow. I'm not even going to ask what you did." She said going back to looking at her knife. "Well good, because I don't even know."

The night was late and dark and silent. I couldn't sleep. Who could? "I hate my life." Abbey said out of no where. We were just sitting at the table in the dark listening. I glanced at her. Hey dark brown eyes were cold, when they usually were warm. Her hand held a stake. She wiped her eyes. "Sorry. I'm sorry." She said. "No, no, it's okay." I said walking over to her side of the table and sat next to her. "I can't say I understand, but it's better to cry than to keep it in."

She stared at me. "No, it's bad to cry. That's a sign of weakness. And that, I'm not." She said. I frowned. "There is nothing wrong with crying." She smiled. "A little defensive much?' She smirked. "Well, I'm sorry I don't cry." She stood up and headed towards my room.

She laid down. "Do you mind if I sleep here? I'm exhausted." I locked eyes with her. They were so brown. So dark. My eyes dropped lower to her chest. I snapped my eyes away. "Um," I said running my fingers throught my hair. "Sure. Why not?" She smiled. "Thanks."

Was I falling for her. No way. I just met her. I JUST met her. I got to get it together. Before this turns ugly. My stomached growed. Oh-no.
