"It seems we have caught you all," Prince Adam says, his voice gravelly and dark.
"You're ours Goldilocks," the three bears growl together.
The sky flashes bright yellow with lightning and thunder cracks all around them. Ariel looks up, thinking quickly she feels for the rope they had used to escape. Her lip curls up a little when she feels the metal hanger still knotted to the sheets hanging over her shoulder. Pulling the rope off her shoulder she swings it a couple times and throws the grapple up to the edge of the buildings on either side of them, hoping the hook will catch on something. It caught on something and she tugs on it a few times to make sure it's staying.
"Come on!," Ariel screams and starts climbing the rope up to one of the roofs.
Goldilocks and Belle run to get to the rope. They reach it and climb up one after the other. There's shouting beneath them, they can't risk falling back down. Belle is the last to pull herself up onto the roof and just in time too. The older bear begins to try to climb the rope up to the girls, but the fabric snaps in the middle and he falls back down curses spilling out of his mouth. Goldilocks pulls the grapple hook free and puts it over Ariel's shoulder as she looks over the edge of the building. At the bottom of the building the men after them are angry beyond reason and are trying to climb building. The wind was growing stronger by the second and the rain felt like bullets on their faces and arms.
"We have to run, we can get to my house if we hurry it up and let them waste their time. We'll be safe at home," Goldilocks yells over the rain just loud enough for the other two to hear then starts running across the building's roof.
"How do you plan to stay hidden from them if they decide to search the surrounding streets," Belle says worriedly following her.
"We jump from building to building, isn't that right Goldilocks?," Ariel calls and chases after the other two.
"Precisely," Goldilocks murmurs and reaches the edge of the building.
She continues running straight on and jumps right as she reaches the edge. Landing on the opposite roof she rolls and stands back up waiting on Ariel and Belle to jump over to her. Ariel struggles a little to jump, but Belle collapses after jumping and cries out. Her leg is bruised bright purple and dark blue.
"Oh no," Goldilocks whispers.
"We have to keep moving, come on we'll help you," Ariel helps Belle up and Belle puts her arm over Ariel's shoulders.
Goldilocks helps Belle on her other side and together they make their way over the roofs and the jumps. It's long and hard and takes much longer than they had expected it to. They made it together, though, and that simple fact put courage in all their hearts and kept them moving through the blinding rain.
"Over here, there's a fire escape that leads from the roof to the alley on the ground. My house is the building right next to the one we're on," Goldilocks points towards the old, metal fire escape.
"An alley huh, not like we've had any issues with alleys today," Ariel jokes.
Belle laughs quietly and Goldilocks cracks a smile. Worry is visible in all their eyes as they climb down the metal spiral staircase and help Belle limp around the buildings and to the back door of Goldilocks's home. May runs into the kitchen where the back door is located and breaks down into tears, putting a hand over her mouth and rushing towards the three girls.
"What happened to you three, where have you been," May guides Belle over to the kitchen table and sits her down.
"We went to visit the prince," Goldilocks mutters and locks the back door.
"You've been gone for days and you found and brought Belle back," May's voice cracks as she sobs quietly.
"Don't cry Mom, we're here, we're alive," Goldilocks hugs May and she smiles.
"We're being chased by the prince and his guard, along with three stalkers," Ariel explains and sits next to Belle.
"Prince Adam treated me cruelly, he kidnapped me and did awful, horrible things to my body," Belle whispers.
"The three stalkers are grown men, all three are brothers. They're my stalkers," Goldilocks tells her May.
"The prince and his guard chased us from the castle after we escaped and the stalkers helped them corner us in an alley. We were able to use the rope we made at the castle to climb the building and jump from building to building to get here, to safety," Ariel says tracing the indentions in the table.
May's eyes widen and she just stares blinking from girl to girl. She looks like she doesn't believe the girls and their story. There's a loud knock on the front door and May looks towards the living room where the front door is. Goldilocks's eyes plead with her mother not to open the door. May sighs and shrugs walking towards the living room. Looking out the front door May sees Prince Adam and three members of his royal guard. Behind them stands three grown men, who she assumes are her daughter's stalkers.
She couldn't just leave the door closed, though. Not with the prince standing there and looking right at her. May unlocks the front door and lets the prince and his guard in. When she tries to stop three stalkers from walking in the prince stops her and lets them in. May gulps back an order to leave.
"Where are the three girls?," Prince Adam demands.
"They're not here," May's voice wavers and the prince smirks.
"Arrest her for lying to royalty," the prince smirks and the guards put May in handcuffs and she screams for help.
Ariel runs into the living room and sees the prince and the bears. She spins around and sprints back into the kitchen, her fire red hair trailing behind her. Prince Adam walks slowly to the kitchen, a huge smirk on his evil face. The brothers follow behind him and the wind blows in under the door seeming to follow brothers and the prince.
"I've already called the true royal guard, they're going to be here in ten minutes by helicopter after I explained what was going on," Goldilocks threatens and stands in front of Belle with Ariel standing by her side.
"My father doesn't scare me," Prince Adam growls.
"You will be when he gets here you monster, you too stalkers," Goldilocks yells and tosses her head.
The bears laugh and the prince smirks and walks closer to the three girls. The bears block the doors so they can't run. Ariel launches herself at the prince to protect her friends. She grasps his hair in her fingers and pulls, receiving a pained scream from Prince Adam. He tried to bat her away but she doesn't move an inch and the brothers don't move in to help. Ariel keeps the fight up till the blades of a helicopter sound near and the sound of rain has passed. Her father had given up on trying to get her to return. Yelling could be heard outside above the sound of the helicopter's engine.
