Magic Is Amazing-Chp. 3

As I turned towards the trees and began walking, I realized that I had no idea where I was and how to get home. Just as I was about to hug a tree, the blue bird showed up. "So Blue," I started, "Is this what you wanted to show me. A guy who is probably going to get arrested for using magic? A guy who is probably insane and thought I was a girl named Cate? Is that what you wanted to show me?" The bird looked at and then hopped over to me. It gently nuzzled me and then flapped its wings. Rising into the air, it slowly started to fly in some direction. I followed it through the woods, and after a long walk I found myself at my house. I turned to thank the bird, but it was gone. Sighing I went into my house and went to sleep.

In the middle of some random dream, I was woken up by someone shaking my shoulder. I slowly opened my eyes and turned my head to see the guy shaking me awake. I sat up quickly and moved as far away from him as I could while still sitting on my bed.
"Ok look," he started, "I'm looking for a girl named Cate. I'm not an idiot, I know that you were sent to free me and that you will help me find her. So can you please, please, please help me?" I looked at him a little more before saying, "Sure, go wait outside while I get dressed." He nodded and then started to move toward the window before stopping and looking over his shoulder, "I'm AJ by the way." He smiled a smile that made me want to melt. "I'm Katie." I said. He had begun moving towards the window again when he stopped, "Cate was sometimes called Katie." He said quietly before jumping out of the window. I was shocked because he had just jumped out of the second story window. Turning around I got dressed in a dark purple shirt and jean shorts, I like jean shorts :), I also brushed my hair and teeth, the normal stuff just faster. I didn't grab my phone before I left, but I did grab snacks. I was about to leave when I decided to to write a note for my parents.
'Mom, Dad,
I'm leaving, hopefully not forever. I won't be in any danger, please don't worry. I will call, just not with my phone. Please don't worry. Im not taking any money so don't worry about that.

Sighing, I kissed the note and walked out of the front door.

I walked out into the nice summer night air. The magic here also kept the air nice. I spotted AJ in the side yard, he was playing with some fire. He spotted me and the fire instantly disappeared. "Are you ready?" he asked. I nodded. He tilted his head to the side. "You're not are you?" He walked closer to me and put his hands on my shoulders. My heart fluttered at his touch. His words then sparked something inside me and tears started leaking out. I wasn't full blown crying, because if I was, I'm sure he would reconsider taking me with him, ya I looked that bad. But a few tears did escape. He hugged me close to him and whispered in my ear, whispered things that made me quiet down and instead focus on how close out bodies were. I was instantly calmed and ready to go. "Let's go find Cate," I said with out missing a beat. He looked at me a moment before saying "We aren't going to go look for her immediately. In order to have freed me from my hourglass prison, you would need to have the earth element. So I'm going to help you work on that." Excitement raced through me. OMG, I'm going to learn magic!!!!! He smiled and then started walking towards the woods. As we walked Blue, the blue bird from earlier, joined us.

Skipping the walking scene

We now sat in a large clearing. It was two mornings later. Ya that was a bad explanation. Basically we walked all night and then slept off and on all day and then all night. So now it's this morning! Over that time we haven't talked much, it was comfortable. I've had time to think, and Im going to be sad when we find Cate, because I have a major crush now.
"Katie, are you ready for your element training?" I looked up at AJ and smiled. "Ya I am." He smiled before saying "Ok go stand on that side of clearing." I walked over to the right side of the clearing while he walked to the leaft side. He crouched into a fighting pose and then sent a fire ball towards my head, my head! I barley dodged. He then sent another one towards my leg. I again barley dodged. What was he doing? I had no training! He then sent a fire wall my way. This time I acted without thinking, I crouched down and put my hands out in front of me. The fire wall stopped a few feet in front of me. I then launched myself up into the air and taking a horizontal position, I threw myself towards him. I was spiraling like a football right at him. I rammed into him and sent him flying back. I then gained focus again and looked all around. Air. I can control air. I spun up into the air and laughed uncontrollably. I can control air. I flew through the air when a near miss with a fire ball brought me back to reality. I turned towards AJ and lifted him up. His eyes widened in fear. I lifted him higher and higher and higher until he was about cloud level. Don't worry, I kept the pressure and thick air in. "AJ do you surrender?" He laughed despite his wide eyes. "Oh Katie, don't you know? I got two elements!" My body began to freeze. I looked down and noticed the ice raise quickly up from my feet. Wait he controls fire and ice? How is that possible. Now it was my turn to have my eyes widen, he laughed. I then dropped him and turned all air. This wasn't as simplistic as it sounded. You had to become one with your surroundings. Ha, lol, I sound like an old man. Anyway, it was much weirder than it was harder. Because once in that form, your body still has a form too you, but at the same time your air. It's very weird. The ice fell off of my legs and plummeted to the ground. I spun around a bit before turning towards AJ, he was looking around with a fire ball in one hand and an ice ball in the other. I knew that he would be able to feel me like he would wind so I went way over his head and behind him. He was floating in the air with fire keeping him off the ground. I snuck up right behind him and just as I was about to return to normal and take a knife that he had given me, he created an ice ball around him, me just outside of it. He then exploded it outwards, the blast sent me backwards and I lost my control, so I turned back into my normal self. I tried air to steady myself, or to at least to slow to fall. But for some reason it wasn't coming. I wanted to scream, but the realization that I would either die or be seriously injured made it impossible.
I remember my body hitting the ground and a thunderous bang, and then darkness.
