Y/N offered him a small smile, her hands twisting slightly at her sides as she searched for a way to lighten the moment.
Her eyes darted to the counter where the fresh ingredients were neatly stacked.
"I...I guess I should get these put away before they lose their freshness.."
Leo nodded, stepping aside to give her room. "Good idea."
Her hand reached out to the fridge, gripping the handle firmly before pulling it open.
The door swung open to reveal an organized, yet baffling sight: rows and rows of Orange Crush and Purple Crush, packed so neatly it could've been a soda advertisement.
On the top shelf sat two empty containers.
"What the..."
She blinked.
Then blinked again.
Slowly, she shut the fridge door, took a deep breath, and reopened it, half-hoping the contents might magically rearrange themselves.
Nope.
Still soda.
And just soda.
Her lips pressed into a tight line as she stood there, staring at the shelves as though they had personally offended her.
"Leo..." she said slowly, her voice deceptively calm.
Leo, who had been unpacking some of the boxes on the counter, froze. He glanced over his shoulder and immediately stiffened at her tone. "Uh... yeah?"
"What... is this?" she asked, gesturing toward the fridge without breaking her gaze from it.
"The...fridge?" he replied cautiously, his hand stilling on the bag he was unloading.
"Yes, it's a fridge," she deadpanned. "But...Is this seriously all you keep in here? Soda?"
Leo rubbed the back of his neck, his expression a mix of sheepishness and guilt. "We... like soda?"
Her head dropped forward, a muffled groan escaping her lips. She wanted to be mad-really, she did-but she wasn't any better. She had been living off muffins and leftover croissants for months.
Her eyes landed on two small containers tucked in the corner of the fridge. She pulled them out and immediately recognized them.
These are mine... from that night.
She opened one of the containers, finding it spotless, almost like someone had gone out of their way to clean it. A soft smile tugged at her lips before she even realized it.
She bit her lip, looking down at the empty containers, her mind flashing back to the hurried meal she'd packed for them on the night she first met Leo's brothers.
They actually ate it... and kept these?
Her heart swelled at the thought, but she quickly schooled her features, forcing the smile into a more neutral expression as she placed the containers back into the fridge.
She turned back toward Leo, who was watching her quietly. His expression was calm but observant, as though he were trying to piece together what was going through her mind.
"Hey, um..." Her voice wavered slightly, and she cleared her throat, trying to steady herself.
"I'll cook for all of you. No arguments allowed..!" Her nervousness bubbled beneath the surface, but she pushed past it.
