Jisung arrived at the restaurant, walking in through the back door as always. After saying hello to a few cooks and one of the waiters who was leaving, he entered the backroom, where Chan and Changbin were already ready to leave.
"Jisung you arrived just on time," Changbin said. Jisung would've taken it as a compliment if Changbin hadn't finished his sentence with "Which is late."
"Yeah, yeah, If you're on time, you're late; if you're early, you're on time," Jisung quoted his friend.
Changbin threw his hands up in the air.
"I can't help you no more," he exaggerated making the boys laugh.
Jisung remembered what Felix had said last night about Changbin not responding. He needed to know the other side.
"Changbin, can I ask you something?"
"Sure," Changbin responded while looking at his phone.
"What happened at the party with Lix?" Jisung asked.
He looked up and saw that Changbin had stopped typing and looked at the younger.
"He probably already told you he kissed my roommate Yeonjun," Changbin said, crossing his arms.
"What!?" Chan said in confusion.
"Yeah, and he said you weren't responding," Jisung pushed. "You're genuinely hurting his feelings."
Changbin sighed, looking down in defeat.
"Well- It wasn't just the kiss. When he was dared to do it, he had no hesitation to do so and they even used a bit of tongue and got all touchy and feely before Wooyoung pulled them apart. I think he saw how hurt I was. Or maybe I'm being a bit of a narcissist. And I'm kinda mad 'bout it."
"But you guys aren't together. So why should you be mad at Felix?" Chan said, dazed but starting to understand.
"I- I don't know. It's the type of mad you feel when somebody cheats on you...but we aren't together so I have no right to be mad."
"That's exactly what Minho said!" Jisung giddily said, not matching the mood at all. "Sorry"
Chan smiled at his friend's silliness and then immediately the two got back to business.
"Listen, mate, I'm gonna need you to apologize to my cousin as soon as you can."
"And ask him out while you're at it!" Jisung fake yelled, hands cupping his mouth.
"I'll apologize but, before I do I will figure out my feelings. Ima get a full understanding of how I feel about Felix and then hope to god he feels the same way."
"he does," Jisung whispered into Chan's ear. The older turned his head to him and smiled at the comment. It went unnoticed by the shortest pacing and figuring a plan in his head.
"We need to be out there soon guys, so hurry it up," Chan said, looking into a small mirror to see how he looked for a final time.
"kay," Jisung mumbled in response, putting his stuff down. He didn't need to be told what to do. He was perfectly capable of taking care of himself. At least he thought.
The other two boys left the room as they had arrived earlier and gotten ready, leaving Jisung to rush. He tied his apron and stuffed its pockets with straws and napkins. He then left the room, running his fingers through his hair to tame the lion's mane. He left the kitchen to the front desk where a line had formed from how busy they were.
