Within the giant lair, Mother had been shaken awake by something that she could not explain. She sniffed and glanced around-her children were nowhere to be seen. Panic started to set in. She tried to move forward, but the chains were holding her back.

No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't seem to get them off. It was as if they were bound by some sort of spell or curse that held her back-made her weak.

No, Mother wasn't having that. She needed to get back to her children. Who knew what could've happened to them? And that's when she felt it again: the tremors. The lair was shaking. Mother growled in anger. Were her children about to get hurt?

She stomped her paw on the ground so hard that it made a dent. Using all her weight, she pushed forward, pushed so hard that even the walls which connected the chains started cracking. Just a little more-just a little more push...

Mother felt the chains, or the curse, breaking. The more she pushed, the more the chains cracked. The entire lair shook from the force of her pushing forward, causing nearby walls to crack and almost collapse.

Mother growled again, causing a tremor herself. The ground began to crack further, and then, the curse snapped. It couldn't bear the weight of Mother's power any longer.

RRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWRRRRRRRRRR!

Mother growled at the same time she made her final push, causing the entire lair to collapse while breaking the chains that had bound her very soul in this wretched place. Fueled by her rage, her monsterification level began to increase exponentially...

Outside of The Main Lines - 4:00PM.

Units 2, 4, and 6-including Suzune, Rikuya, and Chisaki-had finally arrived and were assigned to initiate the operation into the main lines. As the other soldiers prepared their gear, Suzune cautiously approached the main line entrance. Memories of the monstrous centipedes she encountered in the tunnels flashed through her mind, and she took deep, calming breaths to steady her nerves.

The last-minute change in plans had everyone on edge. The revised strategy now called for the rest of the military to transport the rescued survivors from District 3 to a District 1 Green Zone. Meanwhile, the units and ODW teams would carry out the operation, culminating in the release of Dr. Oki's Formula Zero gas across multiple District 3 cities.

The gas was their only hope to revert the monsters back into human form. But if any creatures resisted the formula, the units and ODW would be forced to either capture or eliminate them.

The newbies, they'll definitely die in this operation if it all goes wrong, and then Delta will take the blame since she's the leader...shit...

Suzune felt Delta tap her.

"Reminiscing again?" Delta asked.

Suzune nodded.

"I understand, but with this mission, there are bound to be casualties, so don't feel like you're carrying too much weight. We signed up for this, remember? And they did too...they know the risks..." Delta said.
