Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

With the sun beating at her back, the water surrounded her playing tug of war with her gravity. Piper dove deeper into the water until it surrounded her completely. Rejecting the usual arm strokes, she reached out in front clasping her fingers in each other's grips and whipped her legs in the dolphin stroke. Her legs stayed connected as if bounded together by thick seaweed, her knees barely bending as if she was a mermaid trapped in the confines of a pool. She pierced the water leaving a V trail on opposite sides of her rushing away from her angry whips. Small bubbles of oxygen and carbon dioxide escaped from her mouth, racing each other to the top of the pool popping as soon as it hit exploding at the exposure to the rough air above the horizon of the water.

Underneath, Piper continued to divide the water with her body, each turn and curve creating a new pathway for the water to flow. It was like she was in total and complete control. Something she strived for in her life, day after day,. Something that she felt she lost when her mother informed her that Mackenzie Tosh was moving into her home without her say in the situation. Something she lost when Mackenzie's mother begged her to keep her secret, begged her to lie, hide and conceal the truth from her childhood best friends and adolescent idol. But at this instant, at this moment, when she could twist and turn cause the waves of the water to flow where she directed she was in control of the substance that could halt society as dreadful weather, crush ships as waves, and wipe out cities as a hurricane. This was what she needed to relax. All she needed.

Her lungs began to burn; her throat felt as if it was crushing in on itself and slowly she began to unbind herself. Her hands unlatched, her fingers disconnected, her legs spread out and began to tread water bring her up to the surface like the little balls of air before, racing to the surface.

Hands and legs moving in accord, Piper broke through the surface as a speed that half of her body ejected from the water, air rushing into her lungs at a speed that she felt intoxicated, high and free.

Her feet barely hit the bottom of the pool, the tips of her toes gracefully skimmed the floor, bobbing her up and down on a rhythmic motion that was as old as time. Her lips were tight as the water covered her chin and traveled it way up to her lips, the water flowing everywhere around her, capturing her as it filled every crevice that laid underneath the surface.

Piper floated content, letting the water guided her as the wind commanded, it was a battle of the fittest, but for now Piper let the water take charge for now. It was a peaceful exchange of power and she only wished it was this easy with Mackenzie and herself.

Preparing herself for another deep dive, a splash behind her caused her to twirl against the water and come face to face with the best friends of her worst nightmare. "Steven. What are doing at my house?"

"Oh, my little mermaid. We're helping Mac move in." Bending at the knees, he splashed a handful of water towards Piper, chucking at her appalled look. "Your mother promised that our assistance could be welcome with food and entertainment. I was told to make myself at home in the pool house, but now I can't tell if she meant the pool or you as the entertainment."

Overwhelmed, Piper just let the water consume her. How was it that she could control an element of earth so easily, but she couldn't a teenage boy? She was beyond pissed. There had to be etiquette to invading someone's life. She was pretty sure Hitler had a public game plan before the whole invasion of Poland.
