×You aren't a bad man×

|RUHI|

"Thank you so much, Vahini Sahiba. You're literally the best! I don't know where Aarav bhai found you, but he's really lucky. I swear, if I were there, I would have laid down at your feet," Abhi said as we chatted on a video call.

"Arey, it wasn't that hard to talk to your professor," I replied casually.

"Of course, you're a lawyer. Talking comes easily to you," he responded.

"By the way, where is Aarav?" I asked.

"He's out in the garden, talking to some client," I answered.

"Come on, stop acting all like the ideal son and daughter-in-law. You're on your honeymoon! I’m telling you, Vahini, you need to have some control over him," he teased, and I chuckled at how he was talking.

"So what? That doesn’t mean we have to stick to each other like glue on our honeymoon," I replied.

"It does! Take his phone and have some fun," he said, laughing.

Just then, I heard the door open, and it was Aarav. I quickly ended the call and put my phone aside.

"Who was that?" he asked in a demanding tone.

"My boyfriend," I replied without looking at him.

"Oh, and what were you two talking about?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We were planning how to murder you and run away with your money," I responded sarcastically, and he smirked.

"Yuv..." I was about to continue when he grabbed my hand and pulled me in front of him.

"Don't you dare say his name," he said, his voice dangerously low as he looked into my eyes. For a brief moment, I felt a shiver of fear.

"I was just joking," I said, stepping back.

"But I'm not," he replied, holding my chin and leaning down slightly to meet my gaze.

This wasn't the first time I'd looked into his eyes, but this time, I really noticed how stunning his hazel eyes were.

"Last time, I let him go, but this time, I’ll erase his existence and no one will know where he went," he said. I jerked my chin away from his grip.

"You keep forgetting that I work in law," I said defiantly.

"And you keep forgetting that I hate it when you talk about that guy," he growled. As I stumbled backward, I fell onto the bed.

"You don't get to tell me what to do. I'm sure you had plenty of girlfriends before," I started to retort, but suddenly, he leaned over me, and my heart raced so fast I thought I might explode. His hands were on either side of me, but his body didn’t touch mine.

"You are the first and last woman I’ve ever loved—and still love—and will love until my last breath. You can hate me forever, but that won’t change how I feel," he said, his eyes intense.

"You can’t impress me with your empty words, Aarav. If you truly loved me, you would have accepted rejection and moved on. But no, you decided to manipulate everything. Just accept that you couldn't handle the rejection," I responded, matching his tone.

"I know I’m not a good man, but I’m trying to change for you. I will change for you, just give me a chance, Ruh. I promise I’ll become better," he said, his voice softening.

This felt like the perfect opportunity to get closer to his life. The more he trusted me, the easier it would be to get what I wanted.

I was about to respond when his phone rang, and he stood up. I looked around and also got up.
