"You’re fired! Damn it, how did that deal get canceled? It was crucial for both me and my dad's party!" Aarav shouted, throwing the file onto the table and standing up.
"S-Sir, I’m sorry, but it wasn’t under my control," his assistant said, looking down.
"Sorry? Are you prepared to cover the losses I’ll face due to your negligence?" Aarav yelled.
I smiled from where I stood by the door, unnoticed. This was exactly what an arrogant man like him deserved.
"Get out of here," Aarav ordered his assistant. "Sir, it’s because of your fiancée. She canceled the deal, saying you’re making her a fifty-percent shareholder in your company and giving her decision-making power," the assistant revealed, precisely what I needed him to say.
"Ruhi?" Aarav whispered.
"Who else could it be, Aarav?" I walked in, and his fury turned toward me. I smirked, mirroring his usual expression.
"Get out of here," Aarav told his assistant, who quickly left. Aarav turned to me, his anger palpable as he approached.
"You did all this?" he asked, crossing his arms.
"Any doubt?" I replied, standing my ground.
"You’ve got guts, Ruhi," he said, and I smiled.
"I was made to deal with people like you. Don’t forget, I’m a criminal lawyer," I replied, watching his jaw tighten.
"What did you think? That you could threaten my clients into withdrawing their cases and I’d come begging you to save my career?" I challenged, and he narrowed his eyes, smiling.
"Atleast you accepted that you are my fiance." He smirked. "You want fifty percent of my business?"
"I don't want the black money of yours. I hope you are satisfied getting loss in crores." I was about to leave when he suddenly grabbed my wrist and pinned me against the wall.
The abrupt move left me momentarily stunned, and I realized his face was just inches away from mine.
"This is just a small part of what I can give up for you but you won’t be able to afford your freedom, Ruhi," he said in a deep, husky tone.
"Don't try to threaten me, I am not scared of you." I said in determined voice.
"You are not scared of me but your brother is in London right? What if he never came back?" He said smirking again."Don't you dare Aarav." I raised my finger but he held my hand and pulled me closer.
"What if your mom's business get crushed down completely." He added taking a round me."What if the reputation your dad is so proud of suddenly diminishes when it will be published that Aarav Deshmukh abandoned his one and only daughter just before one day of wedding." He said and indicated towards the picture of mine on his table.
"This strong girl would be scared of me when her family will held her responsible for everything." He said and I could imagine everything happening because I know they will held me responsible for a little thing.
"My loss would nothing be infront of your loss." He said and stood in front of me.
"You have ten seconds to answer me.""Don’t you dare, Aarav," I warned, raising a finger. He seized my hand and pulled me closer.
"What if your mother’s business were completely destroyed?" he continued, circling me.
"What if your father’s proud reputation were tarnished when it’s revealed that Aarav Deshmukh abandoned his only daughter just a day before the wedding?" He pointed to a picture of me on his desk.
