i couldn't believe that luke had the audacity to go and befriend my brother after what he did to me last summer.

it had been nothing but a fling, or so i tried to tell myself. in all honesty, luke wasn't the only one to blame-- i was the one who caught feelings.

flashback

it was late june, school had just ended, and i was unreasonably bored. november, my best friend at the time, was throwing a house party and i planned on attending, but first i had to pick up the delivery of pizza that she had called in. i didn't really mind, though, because michael worked there.

i casually roamed into the pizzeria, feeling judged in my party apparel. i walked onto the line, smoothing my mid-thigh, black dress. when i got up to the cashier, who happened to be my older brother, i took out the cash that november gave me to pay for the several boxes of pizza. in the process of doing so, my brother interrupted me by saying "woah ind, don't you think thats kinda revealing for a 'little' party?" he made a point of air-quoting the word little.

"dude, be real. i'm a virgin and thats not changing anytime soon." i said, earning a small laugh from michael.

"yeah, you're probably right." michael said while laughing. "i'll meet you at november's in a little bit."

"wait what, i thought you were coming with me now?"

" nah. i gotta train the new kid. to be honest he's kinda a noob." he rolled his eyes.

"ha. sucks for you. gotta go, see you later, alright?" i chuckled, handing him the cash.

when i had seen that beautifully sculptured face, i could feel myself growing red with anger. he was the fuckboy who had no heart. to this day, i still can't believe anyone would do such a shitty thing.

"hey, i'm luke." ugh, what a good name wasted on such a shit person.

"nice to meet you. i'm calum."

"and i'm ashton."

the call was filled with awkward silence for a solid minute until luke spoke up. "i'm guessing she's shy, since she's not saying her name."

did he seriously not recognize me? is this a joke? fine, if he wants to play, i'm gonna beat him at his own game. after a good thirty seconds of internally debating it, i spoke up.

"i'm indigo, nice to meet you."
