Can I call u like on the phone
Idk if I'm ready for that
Please cal
Okay fine
________Luke had a tight hold on his phone as he went to press call for the contact name "calpal😍."
His hands trembled and his mind filled with crazy scenarios.
What if he doesn't like my voice or my accent, he thought.
Nonsense. Calum hood was not one to judge unless of course, you were so bad of a person that he could handle it.
They seemed to have a good friendship and no one was going to back out now.
He brought the device up to his ear and waited for it to stop ringing.
"H-hello?" Calum's voice was deep and raspy, almost as if he had a sore throat.
"It's me, Luke," the nervous boy informed him. His head began to ache and his stomach filled with numerous butterflies.
"It's so great to finally hear you speak," calum laughed into the phone.
Luke agreed. He enjoyed talking to the boy on the other line and wasn't planning on stopping.
"So, this feels different, you know, not communicating over text," calum said. Luke could tell he was scared for this too.
I mean this was pretty big for them. But it was a good step into their future relationship.
"It really is," Luke responded in agreement.
The conversation wasn't going anywhere. It basically turned into the two boys breathing into the speaker.
Calum wasn't very patient and even though Luke was practically drenched in sweat, the one who was more paranoid and nervous was the idiot who had no idea what sexual references meant. (Cal)
So, being the awkward person he was, he hung up and hoped to death there wouldn't be a call back. It's not that he didn't enjoy talking to Luke but he was scared to mess anything up.
A/N: just to make things clear, cake isn't together... Yet😏
