Two

At first I thought Sail was joking; actually that was just to make me feel better, but I still wrapped my finger around that thought. I sat up and brushed the sand from my hair. I hugged my knees and dug my face in my thighs. Silently I was hyperventilating.

Sail kept silent and slowly walked away from me. His crunching steps in the sand left my ears. Quickly I got on my feet and wrapped my arms around his. I pressed my face in his bloodied flesh and shook my head. "Please don't go." I whispered and clutched his arm tighter. "I don't want to lose another one."

Sail peeled me off of his arm and rested his firm hands on my shoulders. He bent down, like my grandma used to do before she mysteriously disappeared. I felt my heart pierce with pain of familiarity. "I won't leave you Ever. Plus I'm armed now, I won't let a Di kill me or touch me. Including you." Sail said softly and stood up, parting his hands from my shoulders. Quickly I gripped his hand and felt tears waterfall out of my eyes. I seriously couldn't let Sail out of my sight, and plus this was a show for the Richs, they won't be getting bored for awhile.

"Please, don't go out of my sight." The tears lightened.

Sail sighed and smiled. "Sure." He continued to walk forward, dragging me along behind him. He sat next to the backpacks and pulled out a roll of bandages.

"No," I stopped Sail. "First we got to clean the wounds, then make sure there's no more blood gushing out and then bandage them."

"Ever, I'm sure that isn't necessary."

I glared at him. "Do you want to die of infection? Strip!" I took out a old shirt of mine and walked over to the ocean. Salt would help wounds...no they do help wounds...? I growled. I forgot what even the easiest things to remember! Well, it's been seven years since I was told all of my surviving skills....

Sail strolled over, jumped in the water, splashing me with it, and returned to the surface moving his arms in a circular motion. "Ah nice, the salt really helps." He smirked. I felt like slapping him and beating him until he was raw. That punk. I pressed my dry lips together and pulled him out of the water. I dried his arms and wiped any blood away. His chest was a real piece of work. Large shallow gashes were swiped against his chest as if it were no one's business. Well it was my business and I had to clean up Sail! I pressed harder on the wounds until I swung the shirt over my shoulder and collapsed on the sand. "You're really weak you know that?" I narrowed my eyes at him shot up from the sand. I glared at him before walking over to get my shirt, I strolled back and continued to press on his wounds.

"Finally," I exhaled and wiped the sweat from my forehead with the back of my hand. I flung the shirt at Sail, along with my belt and jumped in the water. I spat out any water that got in me and blinked a couple before swimming on my back. I checked to see f the belt hit him at all. Nope. Good.  "I'm done. You do the rest." Sail did as I asked and occasionally dipped himself on the water. I let the water run through my hair and cleanse any excess blood. I could feel my bandages were slipping off slightly, but that was the least of my concerns.

Sail finished up and dipped the shirt (also a couple others) in the water. I climbed up on the beach and felt myself being pelted with wet shirts. I held back my scream as I heard Sail laughing loudly. "Help me dry now, Ever." He laughed and took a handful of the shirts then walked passed me. I picked up my sandy belt and I followed loyally with a sour expression plastered on my face. I watched as small trees began to appear except the water stayed and same with the sand, but the sun was cranked up to 34°C. I quickly began to sweat. I slipped my belt on after brushing off as many grains of sand I could. I noticed my messed up arms ceased to bleed but that didn't change the fact the sand still stung along with the still, humid air. Next thing to do on my list: bandage arms — again. "Huh maybe we won't need to dry off after all." I smiled slightly as I placed the shirts on the leaves of the tree, my guess was a cross between an evergreen and a palm.... I cocked my head to one side and crossed my arms over my chest. No idea. I continued to pile the shirts on leaves until there was no room. "Hey, Ever?" I nodded and 'mhmed'. "Where's all the food?"
