I ran to the side of the church where I was before the ceremony started and pulled out my pack of cigarettes. I hurried and put one in my mouth and lit it, even though I was very shaky.

"Maddy?" A surprised voice asked. "The ceremony is over. Wait... You smoke?" It was Kayden.

"Yeah." I replied simply.

"Since when?"

"Since about a year ago."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Why would I tell you Kayden?" I was starting to get very angry with him but I didn't know why.

"What do you mean?"

I rolled my eyes and said, "Every time you find out something new about my family, you run and tell everyone. You are like my worst nightmare at times! Like is it really that hard to understand that one persons business is just their business and not everybody else's unless they tell them themselves? Is it that hard to get that through your orphan brain of yours? Like I'm sorry that you were never adopted from the time that you were a baby to the time you turned 18. But, God, go get a fucking life and stop feeling sorry for yourself and consuming my family drama."

"Maddy-" He started.

"GET THE FUCK A WAY FROM ME YOU UNWANTED PERSON." I screamed. I was raging. I felt it all the way in my stomach. That was, until I saw his face.

"Kayden, I. I didn't mean it. I'm sorry. It's just so stressful and if anybody found out about this I wou-"

"You know what, Maddy? Just shut up. Besides, I thought I was an unwanted person. Why would you try to explain yourself to an unwanted person?" He interuppted, holding back tears.

"Kay-"

"Don't talk to me ever again." He said and stomped away. I watched him forcefully open the church doors and disappear behind the doors.

"Well, I was not expecting that." I recognized the accent. It was Luke.

"Do you mind?" I asked.

"Oh no, not at all. You're kinda hot when you get mad." He smirked.

"You're disgusting." I said, walking away.

"Oh come one, where ya going?" He yelled after me.

"To find my mom you son of a bitch."

"Hey!" He yelled and ran up to me and stood in front of me. "Do not call me that."

"Awwhh, did I find tough little Lukey's soft spot?" I joked.

"No. Its not a soft spot. Its just that my mum was a bitch and I don't appreciate being called her son."

"It's a metephor you dipshit." I said and went around him to head back into the church.

"Yeah, I know." He said, trying to play it off.

I kept walking away, not turning around to him calling me 'sweet' names or calling me by my name or even to the sound of his voice. I need to find my mom before she does anything bad.

I walked into the girls bathroom to find nobody out of the stalls and all the stall doors were shut. I started looking under the doors, trying to find her shoes. She wore sparkly black heels that were about 3 inches tall.

After checking under all the stall doors and even calling her name, I couldn't find her. I decided to start asking around the people in the church to see if any of them have seen her.

Finally, one of her friends said that they saw her walk out the door and not walk back in. That means she either walked home or she walked to the bar.

I thanked her friend and walked out to my car. I hopped in the drivers side and started the car. I heard a door shut and looked over to see Luke in the passenger seat, buckling his seat belt.

"What the hell are you doing?" I asked.

"Going for a ride with you. Why?" He replied, putting another cigarette in his mouth.

"Hey, no smoking in the car." I said and grabbed the cigarette out of his mouth and threw it out the window. "And I never said you could come with me."

"I don't need permission. I'm 18."

"Yeah but this is my car and I need to go find my mom. So please get out." I said, reaching for the door handle on his side.

"Maybe, I could help you find her." He said, licking his lips again and lifting my hand up and gently placing it on the wheel.

I looked at him hesitantly. "Drive." He said, and I did.
