This is also humanised because I find it slightly easier to describe character actions and feelings that way 😭 other than that enjoy e

"Okay class, please close your plays and neatly place them in the purple tray as you're leaving."

The girl slowly stood up, a tired look on her face as she picked up her bag.

She pushed in her chair, placing her play booklet into the tray before quietly exiting along with everyone else.

The day was quite mediocre. Just a random Monday on April, a random month in the year. But not for Pastel Highlighter. This was the first day back at school after one week of being off and at the hospital. And so she was filled with a newfound determination, a flame burning with a passion like never before. She was gonna get better. For sure. No ifs, no buts.

She quietly hummed a tune to herself, flicking her long, shiny strawberry blonde hair behind her shoulder as she walked down the empty back stairwell, clutching on the railing as she began to do a little dance to herself before jumping off the final step, opening the door and walking back into the main hallway.

Holding up a smile, she paced down the halls before eventually reaching her form room, opening the door to find her best friend Foldy sitting on a chair and staring into space, along with her other friend Glass Cup, and... Makeup Brush, who was too busy styling her hair to care.

"Oh, hi!" Glassy waved, smiling as Pastel grinned back.

"F-Foldy?" Pastel uttered, towering above Foldy as she fiddled with her hair a little nervously.

"Wha..?!"

"I'm going to watch the basketball game this break, wanna come?" She asked, smiling again as Foldy frowned.

"Oh, it's okay! I feel a bit tired today, I'll be in our form room with Glassy and Makeup Brush okay?"

"Cmon, pleeeeaaaseeee...?" Pastel suddenly held onto Foldy's hands, putting on a pouty face with puppy eyes, causing Foldy to blush a little before sighing.

"Fine, how could I resist seeing that face!" Foldy laughed as she got up, turning back to Glassy, who waved them goodbye as they walked out of the classroom.

"It's so funny that you instantly folded the moment I gave you that face! Are you in love with me or something, Foldy?" Pastel snickered, nudging Foldy with a laugh as she rolled her eyes.

"N-No! Besides, I'm happy taken by Stapy." Foldy clarified with a proud smirk before the two burst out laughing.

"Once we're adults, I'll be waiting for the moment he puts that ring on your finger!" Pastel giggled, holding onto Foldy's hand as the two walked into the sports hall.

Pastel went silent, looking to the side as the two walked over to the sports coach.

"Hi sir! Do you mind if we watch today's basketball practise?" Foldy asked with an innocent smile, fidgeting with her curly brown hair as the coach folded his arms.

"Of course girls, but one thing. One of the boys forgot to get the basketballs from the sports cupboard. Do you mind getting them for us, very quickly though!"

"Uhm, well-"

"Sure thing! Won't let you down, sir!" Pastel yelled with a forced smile, her eyes widening a little unnaturally as the coach handed over the key with a look of trust.
