As the first rays of sunlight filtered through the small window of the room, casting a soft golden glow on the damp walls, Jungkook stirred from his sleep. The storm had passed in the night, leaving a peaceful silence in its wake. His body felt warm, wrapped in the comfort of the blankets, but there was something else—something unfamiliar.

Jungkook blinked, his eyes slowly adjusting to the dim morning light. It took him a moment to realize that something was different. He was not alone.

As he moved slightly, the sensation of warmth pressed against his chest, and he froze, looking down. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Taehyung’s face, peaceful in sleep, nestled against his chest. Taehyung was lying on top of him, his head resting against Jungkook’s shoulder, one arm draped over his waist, their bodies entangled on the floor.

Jungkook’s breath hitched, and his body tensed. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His heart thudded in his chest as he tried to process the closeness between them. Taehyung was still asleep, his breathing slow and even, but Jungkook could feel the warmth of his body, the soft rise and fall of Taehyung’s chest against his own. The intimacy of the situation made Jungkook’s heart race, and a wave of heat flooded his face.

He tried to shift, but he didn’t want to disturb Taehyung, who looked so peaceful and vulnerable in that moment. But as he moved slightly, he felt the weight of Taehyung’s body shift, and Taehyung stirred, his eyes blinking open slowly.

Taehyung blinked in confusion, the grogginess of sleep still clouding his mind. But as his eyes fully opened, he froze. He immediately became aware of their position, of how close they were, and his breath hitched in surprise. His face flushed instantly, and he quickly pushed himself up, scrambling to move away from Jungkook.

“Wha—what?” Taehyung stuttered, his voice rough with sleep. His eyes darted around the room, as if trying to make sense of what had happened. His face was a mix of shock, embarrassment, and confusion. “What are we…?”

Jungkook’s heart pounded in his chest, his face flushing a deep shade of red. He scrambled to sit up as well, feeling the awkwardness of the moment settle between them like an invisible weight.

“I—I don’t know,” Jungkook muttered, feeling his throat tighten with the awkwardness. His heart was still racing, his palms sweating. He couldn’t understand how they had ended up like this. “I guess... we must have fallen asleep like that during the night.”

Taehyung’s face reddened even more, and he looked away quickly, his hand rubbing the back of his neck in embarrassment. He couldn’t seem to meet Jungkook’s gaze, his eyes darting everywhere except to him.

“I—I didn’t mean to… I didn’t realize I—” Taehyung stammered, but his words were cut off by a soft chuckle from Jungkook. Jungkook didn’t know why he was laughing, but the tension in the room was unbearable, and it seemed like the only way to ease it.

“It’s okay,” Jungkook said softly, his voice barely above a whisper. “It’s just… we’re both here, and the storm, everything… we just fell asleep. It’s nothing, really.”

But even as he said it, Jungkook’s heart was racing in his chest. The truth was, this moment felt so much more than “nothing.” Being this close to Taehyung, feeling the warmth of his body against his own, had stirred something deep inside Jungkook. Something he wasn’t sure he was ready to admit. But it was undeniable.

Taehyung finally turned his gaze back to Jungkook, his eyes softer now, though still filled with uncertainty. He seemed to be searching Jungkook’s face, as if trying to gauge his reaction.
