A gray haired woman opened the glass door of the Arden High Principal's office. She poked her head through it while phones were ringing loudly behind her.
"Here you go, John" she yelled toward Principal Zwicki. His back was to her. The woman walked toward his desk and plunked a yearbook down. "Last years' yearbook."
"Good morning Pauline. Thank you." said Zwicki pleasantly. He smiled at her.
"You're welcome, John," she replied. "I've got some things to bring in and have you sign later."
"You know where to find me," he said.
Pauline left Zwicki alone in the room. He opened the yearbook and went straight for the index in the back of the book.
He found what he was looking for and thumbed through the pages until he found the black and white yearbook photo of a shyly smiling Sarah Netherby.
He made a mental note, slowly closed the yearbook and leaned back into his chair. He was nervously chewing on the inside of his mouth.
