God is teaching me how to not play victim, how to stop falling into a victim mindset.
Yes, it happened to you, but what are you going to do now? Henceforth? Thereafter? How are you going to move on? Do you even want to, really?
Over the past weeks, there are times when I get things wrong or struggle with certain things, or feel certain ways after some interactions. It's so easy to slip into a state of self-pity and to get scared that you'd never get better than what you were... Or get over what you experienced.
He's changing the way I think about how I approach wounds or flaws I have.
"This thing happened to me, and since then I've been struggling with this. It's so difficult and I hate it."
He doesn't want me to have that, a helpless, hopeless approach towards these things. He wants me to try, at least just a little. He wants me to put effort into overcoming the difficult terrains of life. He doesn't like it when I resign my fate because it does more harm than good to my personal stability.
"I've struggled with this for a while, but I'm doing what I can to be better."
John 8:36 NKJV
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.I won't lie, it can be quite comfortable, that place where you're throwing stones at every situation or person that ever played a part in the wrongness you feel about yourself or your life. If can be quite satisfying, but it never helps life get better. It just makes you bitter. Stop pointing fingers and take responsibility for your life.
You're here, now. Pick up your cross. What doesn't kill you DOESN'T make you stronger.
Your strength comes from having the courage to move forward and get better no matter how bad things were/are.
In making the decision to move forward and walking in agreement to God's plan for your life as He guides you and helps you get back on track your healing and growth follows.
I've had to make conscious effort to stop myself from saying some things or reacting in ways that don't align with how God sees me and who He made me be. I've had to make conscious effort to change my language; the kind of words I use when describing situations or going through them. Stop whining, start striving.
Eventually, you will thrive.
Not because I said so, but because that is what God wants for you, and that is where He'll lead you to.III John 1:2 NKJV
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.Just trust Him.
New Year, Better You.
Not because of the new year, but because that is what you choose.Your mind is the start of everything. It is the battle ground, it is where life or death is first born.
Guard your heart. Renew your mind in the word.Proverbs 4:23 NKJV
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.Romans 12:2 NKJV
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.In all your ways walk according to God's guidance and will, and He'll make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. All my love.
