"Birdie! I vas so vorried jou vouldn't vake up." Prussia smiled at the figure heading in his direction. "Did jou like jour gift?"
"Oui. I did." Canada chirped cutely.
Prussia reached his hand up from where he sat on the ground.
Birdie took it and was pulled down on top of his German boyfriend.
"Vhat vere jou going to name it?" Prussia asked, his hands moving to Canada's hips.
"Prubear." Canada replied with a blush.
Prussia smiled at the awesome name.
"Ich liebe dich, Birdie." He whispered, burying his face in the other's neck.
Canada giggled. "Je T'aime aussi."
"Hey, Canada?" Prussia's hands slid upward, finding their way under his boyfriend's teal hoodie.
"Yeah, b'y?"
"I had a talk vith mein bruder." Birdie's back was covered in the scars from all the wars he worked to keep peace in as well as the remains of the burns caused by the Halifax explosion.
"And?" Canada's hands curled into fists against his amour's chest.
"He said if I vanted to stay in Canada, he could take over zhe job of zhe East German representative...So, if jou'll have me."
"Really?" Canada's grip on Prussia's shirt tightened.
"Ja. Jou und I could stay togezher vizhout any complications."
"I'd like that, Gil." Canada sighed happily.
And just like that, everything that had happened two months before, with the zombies and the regret, ceased to exist.
It was just Gilbert Beilschmidt and Matthew Williams, Prussia and Canada, for the rest of their lives.
