Stay with me
As we cross the empty skies
Come sail with me
We play in dreams
As we cross through space and time
Just stay with me

Recently, your class had gained a new student. Her name was Mukuro, and she was apparently Junko's twin. Considering she joined midyear and without explanation, she was unfortunately sort of iced out by the rest of your classmates.
Actually, perhaps that's not the right terminology. Everyone tried to consistently invite her to things with different groups in the class, but either she wouldn't go or when she would go it was only because Junko was there. And if she did come along, you'd be lucky to hold a two-second conversation.
So when the three of you had been called to work on a group project together, you decided you'd use this as a way to get to know the aloof girl better.
You were actually very surprised when you stopped in front of what Junko texted you and said was their house. The home was a one-story, small house with broken windows and a bad paint job. You had always assumed that considering Junko's job they would be living somewhere else. But it was wrong to assume and it wasn't your business.
Walking up to the door and knocking, you yelped slightly as the door was immediately flung open. Mukuro stood in the doorway, unmoving as her eyes practically glared daggers at you. You responded with a nervous smile, quickly looking away as you avoided her stare.
"Uh, hey-" She quickly cut you off when you attempted to greet her. "Junko isn't here." Your brows furrowed at that, looking back over to the girl as she began to pull out her phone and click something on the screen.
"Y/n~!" Junko's unmistakable voice cut through the air from the phone still grasped in Mukuro's hands. "I'm so sorry, I know you'll miss me so much but I have a shoot I have to do! I'd hate to leave you alone with someone as ugly as Mukuro but don't worry I made sure to threaten her so she wouldn't feel you up or anything! Love ya, bye~"
Your brows furrowed at both the very weird, and very Junko voice message, shaking your head and laughing slightly. "Weirdo..." Mukuro put the phone away and glared at you even more. "Excuse me?" Your eyes widened slightly at her reaction, quickly putting your hands up defensively.
"I- I meant it as a compliment!" Her glare eased but only slightly, walking away from you and further into their house. You followed behind quickly, closing the front door as you trailed past the black-haired girl.
Your eyes traced the walls and rooms you passed by, not seeing much life or care put into the house. Though as you walked into what seemed to be Junko's room, you definitely saw a bit more character. It was pretty messy, but it wasn't the worst bedroom you'd ever seen.
"Why are we in Junko's room?" You asked curiously as you watched the woman step inside the room. "This is both our room." She stated without much emotion in her voice at all, walking over to the corner of the room where there was a blanket and a pillow on the floor.
You both sat down next to the bed, setting your backpack down. "Okay I brought a poster board, markers, pens, pencils-"
"Why are you still here?" Mukuro cut you off with a rather confusing question, causing you to stop and look up at her with furrowed brows. "What do you mean...?" She stared at you blankly for a few more seconds before talking again.
"Junko won't be here till very late. You can go home." Your brows furrowed even further at her words, honestly feeling a little upset by them. "So? I don't come here just for Junko. I came here to see you just as much."
Her eyes widened at your words, the first real emotion you've seen from her. A sigh left your lips as you continued to take the stuff out of your bag. "You're my classmate too. I know you don't really like our class, and honestly, I can't blame you sometimes, but that doesn't mean I'm just gonna pretend like you don't exist or something."
You were wildly confused at what was going on with her, you just came over to do some group project and now it almost seemed like she was testing you.
"I don't not like our class. I just... don't want to get attached." Ah, attachment issues. Yeah, that makes sense, especially considering she is the ultimate soldier and everything.
"Why not? We still have about a year and a half till collage and stuff, you have plenty of time to get to know and be friends with everybody, even if it won't last forever."
You leaned slightly closer to her, hoping that it would punctuate your point that she still had plenty of time to make friends. Her eyes were seemingly glued to the floor, staring at it blankly.
"I suppose that if a long time in perspective..." She mumbled, still in her own world as she folded her hands neatly in her lap. You gasped slightly at the rather large tattoo on the back of her hand, instinctively grabbing her hand to pull it towards your face.
"Whoa, how have I never noticed your tattoo? Gosh, that's awesome." You gasped again, looking up at their girl with a small smile. "You should show Mondo! He's the only other person who has a tattoo in our class and I think he'd find it pretty cool."
You gave a close-eyed smile, not noticing the very light blush that sat on her freckled cheeks. "Mondo... which one is that?" She asked almost on auto command as you still held her much colder hands in your soft and warm ones.
"Oh, the tall guy that always wears a biker jacket, the one with a weird cone-shaped hairdo?" Your eyes widened almost immediately after you said that, leaning closer to Mukuro. "Don't tell him I said that."
The woman's brows immediately furrowed, looking at you with an expression that almost seemed... upset? "Why? Will he hurt you?" A slight came from your lips as you let go of Mukuro's hand and quickly shook your head.
"Oh no, he doesn't hit women ever. Plus he's my friend. Like I would hit you, y'know?" A nervous laugh bubbled up your throat as you looked away from her once more, scratching at the back of your neck.
She stared at you with her almost mesmerizing greyish-blue eyes. "Then, would that make us... friends?" You were slightly surprised by her question, though you quickly nodded your head and gave her a small smile.
"Of course we're friends. I wouldn't be in some stranger's house like this would I?" She looked away from you, shaking her head and mumbling something you couldn't exactly hear under her breath.
A sigh left your lips, letting your shoulders relax as you finally felt comfortable with the girl. "Come on, we have a project to finish and I have a feeling we'll have to carry Junko's weight..." Your grumbled joke earned a very, very small laugh from her, honestly it could've been mistaken for a sigh.
Nonetheless, it warmed your heart that you could be friends with someone who finally seemed chill for once.
