Sean came stalking out of the hallway just as I was opening the beer boxes. The fridge was fairly empty, and some of these things would spoil soon. Once Sean saw me open up the Guinness box, he stopped and eyed it. Slowly, a smile crept onto his face.
"Did you get it?" He asked. He sounded much friendlier.
"Yeah." I said, glancing down at the drinks. He smiled wider, and glanced at Norman.
"She's a keeper." Sean declared, turning back to me. Before I could say anything, he grabbed a bottle of Guinness and opened it up. "This is my favorite beer." He declared, taking a sip.
"How did you find that?" Norman asked, his eyebrows raising.
"It was behind a box of Bud." I shrugged. "I don't know how you didn't see it to begin with."
"They don't sell Guinness! You must've found Reggie's secret stash!" Sean declared, wrapping me in a tight hug. Then he pulled away, a huge smile on his face. "Welcome to the team!"
"Thanks." I mumbled, smiling a little. I guess the old saying was true; the way to a mans heart was through his stomach. And give him a good beer, then he'd follow you everywhere. Going to put the other beers away, Sean grabbed my elbow to stop me. I glanced at him.
"Keep 'em out. We're gonna be drinking more anyway." He ordered, taking another sip of Guinness. He glanced back at Norman, who was lounging on the couch. "Lil brother! Get up and show her the house!" He ordered, taking another sip of Guinness. Norman muttered something and got up, making his way over to me. Meanwhile, Sean had situated himself on the couch, his feet kicked up onto the coffee table.
"Congrats. You got on his good side the day you meet him." He mumbled. Then he gestured around the room. "As you can see, this is the living room and kitchen area. We hang out in the living room mostly. If you'll follow me, I'll show you to your room."
He led me down the hallway, and I couldn't help think. I was living with two men that I barely knew. Hell, I didn't even know Sean at all besides his favorite beer. And Norman said they were both killers. What they would do to me was a mystery. Shoving these negative thoughts out of my head, I glanced around. The log walls were plains, but the little details etched into them were still interesting. Each line marked a different section that was cut, a different way the tree had grown. It was amazing that three men could build this on their own. Even when the floorboards creaking under my weight, it gave the house a warm, comforting air.
Norman turned into a room on the left, and stepped back. It was simple enough; a bed, dresser, and another door that most likely led to the bathroom that he was talking about earlier. A full body mirror sat by the door, while on the other end was a window. I walked over to it, and was absolutely awed by the view. Being on top of a mountain, you could see for miles! Through the treetops, rolling dark blue mountains in the distance, every time they dipped there was a valley. I also noticed an old bonfire pit. The view was absolutely gorgeous!
"Oh my gosh..." I breathed, my eyes wide.
"You like it?" Norman asked. I glanced behind me, a huge smile on my face.
"It's beautiful!" I exclaimed. Norman smiled, and walked towards me until he was standing behind me.
"Wait until sunset. This is the window the sun sets in." He murmured, placing his hands on my hips. Despite being surprised by his actions, I gaped at the view.
"Who's room was this?" I asked. One of them had to give up their room.
"Mine. But it's yours until we build another one. But that'll take some time." Norman said. I admired the view. "Bet that's not like anything you get in the city." Norman stated.
