Liz woke up alone.
"Ugh... Wh-what happened?" she asked, her voice echoing in the chamber she was in. 'Wait... Chamber?!' she thought. It was true. Crumbling stone walls surrounded her. The room was circular, with a spiral starecase leading downwards. Only a single window, which had no glass, brought light to the room. This meant that the chamber was rather dim, even though it was daytime. Furniture was scarce, there being only a dusty old bed near the far wall, and other life was even scarcer. She stood up, her bare feet getting cold on the stone floor. Peering out the window, she could see that she was in some kind of caste. Right now she was standing in the south-east tower. Not a sound was heard as Liz gingerly made her way down the staircase. As she made her way to the oak door at the bottom of the tower, she stopped, her hand inches away from the doorknob. Did she really want to know what was in there? The suspense was so thick you could cut it as she pondered this question for a few seconds. Curiosity got the better of her and she pushed the door open.
