A dining room. That is what lay beyond the door. Liz was expecting something a little more exciting. She ran her hand along the smooth surface of the oak table.
"Maybe I could find some food..." she muttered.
"Here." a voice said. Liz spun around to see the girl from before. She was holding out a plate with some bread on it. Cautiously, Liz picked up the loaf and examined it. She took a tiny bite before wolfing it down, her stomach still not satisfied. The hooded girl, however, was. Liz opened her mouth to say something, but the girl held up her hand, cutting her off.
"No thanks needed. And as for my name, well, you can just call me L," she stated, reading Liz's mind (figuratively, of course).
"Well it was nice to meet you, I guess, but I have places I need to be..." Liz muttered, walking as fast as she could towards the door. L sighed and shook her head. The serpentine wind whipped around the trees, their branches quaking in fear. Hail fell from the cloud-covered sky, pelting everything below. Panting for breath, Liz ran as fast as she could towards the nearest shelter, which just so happened to be a cave. She launched herself inside, breath shaking, shivering as she slid down onto the cold dirt. Suddenly, a mighty roar echoes through the chasms as two spotlight-like yellow eyes illuminated the darkness.
