Shattered Reflection

Chapter One

Natalia's POV

These two people, could they really be it? Could they be my parents, whom I assumed dead? I move towards them with caution, wary of the emotional couple. I get within arm's reach and the woman takes my face in her hands. I feel a warmth and a sense of safety.

They are my parents.

"It's our baby girl. We found her," My mom says. I hug her and I feel my dad hug me as well.

I pull back and smile, "How did you find me?"

"We heard of a girl that claimed to be a princess in Asgard. We hurried right over," She says.

"How is Talahgard not destroyed?" I ask.

"Never mind that. Let's get off this realm. They never liked us. They didn't hurt you did they?" My father asks.

"Of course not," I say. Loki starts to descend down the stairs of the throne.

"Let's go," my mother says and pushes  me behind her.

"I assure you, we mean no harm." Loki says. Now standing by us.

"I'm taking my daughter back. Don't communicate with our realm again," Mother says. My eyes widen. I squeeze through and stand by Loki.

"Mother. I can't leave," I say.

"Why? Are they threatening you?" She asks worriedly.

"No! I want to stay here," I say. My parents looked shocked.

"Why, my sweet daughter?" My father asks.

"I'm... engaged," I say happily.

"To whom? He can come with us. I'm sure our people will allow their princess to be happy," My father says with a smile.

"He cannot leave. That is not an option," I say.

"Well, who is he?" Mother asks.

Loki puts his arm around my waist modestly, "Mother, Father. Meet Loki, the king of Asgard. My future husband."

Loki's POV

Her father gains a worried look in his eyes and her mother tenses dramatically.

"What?! An Asgardian king?! This had better be a joke!" Her mother screams. I am taken aback.

"What's wrong mother? He means me no harm. He helped me become stronger," Natalia says.

"How will it make us look when our daughter marries an Asgardian?" Her mother says.

"I do not understand," I say, confused.

"Asgard's the reason Talahgard was almost destroyed!" She screeches.

"Excuse me? What are you talking about!?" Natalia yells.

Her father cuts in, calmer. "A bomb was placed in the heart of Talahgard. We never knew who it was but-"

"Of course it was them! Odin despised us! Only he would do this!" She yells and glares at me.

"Loki loves me! Can't you understand?" Natalia pleads.

"My daughter will not be with such barbarians! Besides, you have a kingdom that comes first," Her mother says.

"What of my sister? She was the elder of us. She has the rightful rule to the kingdom," Natalia says.

"Well, yes. But a kingdom needs it's princess," Her father cuts in.

"Your kingdom comes first!" Natalia's mother growls.
