Chapter 2
(Chloe's POV)
15 minutes later all of Matt's friends walked in with their parents and presents, Amber, Lexie, and I where in the shallow end with Shelby because she said "I don't want to be with the boys" so she was going to be with us. We had matching black and blue bikinis with blue bottoms, Shelby had on a pink one piece. we all had dirty blonde hair and brown eyes. The sun was starting to set behind the mountains and the pool water was cold, the boys were in the deep end with inner tubes and hitting each other with noodles. Some of the parents where in the water and some had their feet in the water.
We were doing stunts with Shelby "shhh... I am going to go splash my mom." I whispered she has not got her hair wet yet so it would be really cold Shelby giggled as I crept up on my mom she was talking to the other moms, I put my hands next to each other and pushed the water out of the pool on to her she screamed and stood up and ran to the towel and wiped off her face I was laughing so hard. "Chloe I am gonna get you back soon just watch out!" She said laughing at herself I swam back over to Lexie, Amber, and Shelby and I had to sit on the steps because I was laughing so hard. I looked up and Lexie and Amber were laughing too "oh my gosh that was so mean!" Amber said still laughing "you heard what she said you better watch out!" Lexie said Shelby was laughing too.
"Cake time!" My dad yelled and all of the boys swam to the latter and ran over to the table waiting for the candles to be lit "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday to Matthew, happy birthday to you!" Everybody sang then my dad gave the boys a slice of cake and ice cream. They sat down on their towel and started to eat, Then we gave them all juice boxes. When everyone got something to eat we all listened to country music on the radio. Brady sat next to Amber and Shelby sat next to Lexie "Matt why don't you sit with me?" I joked "Chloe it's embarrassing!" He said "fine." I said, I got up and walked over to him with frosting on my finger and put it on his nose and said "aww little Matt has frosting on his nose, so cute." I said in a baby voice "Chloe." He whined as he wiped the frosting off of his nose, I laughed and walked back to my chair. Amber, Lexie, and I started singing along to the radio, and Shelby and Brady started playing air guitar the boys started to laugh at us and we sang louder.
The song ended "awe!" We said "YES!" Screamed the boys "were we good singers Matt?" I said "sure." Matt said rolling his eyes "let's take a group picture!" Amber said "yeah!" I said I got up and got my phone "mom, can you take a picture of all of us?" I asked "sure, go near the water fall." She said "let's go take a picture." I said, the boys where in the front I was behind Matt Lexie was holding Shelby on her back and Amber was holding Brady on her hip "smile!" My mom said "cheese!" Everybody said quietly "now do a silly face! Okay all done, let's go open presents." My mom yelled excitedly.
Matt sat down with his friends at the picnic table and we Stood up and watched, he got video games, gift cards, and clothes from mom and dad. The music came back on and the boys got in the pool and so did some of their parents I posted the picture of all of us smiling and the caption said happy birthday to my little brother and I put some emojis too. "Don't look now but there's Carley, piper, Harper, and Alexis." Lexie whispered and I turned around they were pointing at us and laughing. They went to our school and said mean stuff to us online and at school. We didn't care right now. We sat on the edge of the pool and stuck our feet in, my mom came up behind me and pushed me in. "Mom, the water is so cold!" I yelled "payback." She said shrugging her shoulders, Lexie and Amber were laughing at me then I started laughing too because I knew I probably looked silly.
I heard my phone ding so I got up and sat on my towel and someone named _neverknow_ (idk if its a real username) commented on my picture, I unlocked my phone and read the comment "awe such a cute picture you look happy you better look out for me!" Who is this I thought to myself. I took a screenshot of the comment and went to the page, 0 posts 4 followers following 0 I took a screenshot of that too, I deleted the comment and turned off my phone I walked back over to the pool and sat down "are you okay?" Amber asked "yeah...I'm fine" I said quietly "are you sure?" Lexie asked "yeah I'm just tired." I said they looked at each other and I could tell that they didn't believe me.
