Aron thought about everything that he could possibly remember pertaining the situation. It was a really tough choice of what to do... considering the undetermined circumstances. He thought about how hard it would be to escape, what happened if he was caught, if his new body was even ready to move, and if it was possible for him to survive in the wild. In the end, he decided he needed to escape.
There was a problem, though. Aron had multiple medical tubes sticking out of his new wolf-like body.
(Only one way to do this...) he thought to himself.
He lightly tried to pull out one of the tubes in his arm... no luck. Aron then took a deep breath, closed his eyes, clenched his teeth and yanked it out.
"Oww!! DAMN!" he said painfully.
One down... five to go. One by one he pulled them out clenching his jaws. He tried to remain as quiet as possible in the process. He eventually made it to the last one in his left leg. With heavy breathing, he yanked it out and breathed a sigh of relief. Now, the question was, could he walk?
Aron carefully rolled off of the table onto the floor, landing on his hybrid hand-paws. He sat up and eventually got one leg up. He tried the other... and fell over. He determined he wasn't strong enough to walk yet. He then remembered the recorded message, in the context that he would be able to walk on all-fours like a regular dog.
He tried it quickly and then stopped. The pain in his back legs was almost unbearable. It was obvious now that he wasn't strong enough to walk. He then decided to try crawling, similar to what they would do in the army. To his surprise, it worked. There was a little pain in his back legs, but he was at least able to move.
Aron crawled on the floor and into the doorway. He used his new hearing abilities to hear if anyone was walking around in the dark hallway. No one was. The coast was clear, although, he had a decision to make – left or right? Since he had noticed the doctor and his assistant come from the left, that is where he decided to go. He passed a few rooms with closed doors. He eventually came upon one with a door open, of which he carefully peeked into.
The room had a desk with multiple computers on it – none of which were on. He looked around some more and found four cabinets, all of which closed. Something on the floor caught his attention, though. It was a small white rectangle. Aron picked it up, turned it over, and couldn't believe it. It was his cherished wallet photo of he and his sister from the wedding in 1998.
(My photo!! My stuff must be in one of those cabinets!) he thought to himself.
He crawled his way over and tried to nudge open the handles. None of the four opened. Aron assumed they were locked. As much as he wanted to get his personal belongings out of the cabinets, he needed to focus on escaping instead.
He crawled out of the room, but kept the photo he found. He tucked it in the white bandage of where the medical tube used to stick out of his left arm. He continued crawling down the hallway. His ears perked at a noise coming from the next room on the right. It sounded like someone had coughed twice from inside, followed by breathing.
Aron crawled to the doorway to peek in. The sight he witnessed sent shockwaves throughout his body. It was another hybrid. The animal was sleeping on a table that was labeled with a sticker that read "133". To Aron, It looked like a feline of some sort.
Upon realizing that this was "133",he felt that he needed to tell this creature about what he heard earlier from the doctor and his assistant. Aron carefully crawled up to the table and put his paws on the flat surface.
"...Wake up... please wake up..."he whispered into its ear.
The figure remained motionless. Aron gently put a paw on its face.
