Food

(Taylor's Perspective)

My stomach growls really found.

I am starving.

I need to find food.

I carefully stand up and and balance on my stick.

I slowly walk back to the river, once I finally get to it I take a drink of water. I look in the water to see if there are any fish.

I don't see any fish. Maybe it's too shallow for fish to swim in? If I follow the water will I find a river or a ocean?

I begin my search for food. After a hour or so of walking along the river I found the ocean.  I am standing on top of a mountain, the wind picked up a bit and I shiver. I look down the rocky bottom below, the big ocean waves crash along the mountain wall.

Well I found water, how do I get down from here? And when I get down, I can't drink ocean water. It's too salty. Maybe I can boil it? How I don't have any pots. Maybe the river water I found is safe? I already drank some and I am not sick so I guess it's safe.

But I still haven't found any food. Well I might as well look for a way to get down. I look for a little hill or something to get down. I see a pice of land that goes down hill, but it's really rocky. It will have to do.

I step down and the sharp rocks pinches my soft skin. "Owe." I said step back into the grass. My shoes aren't really made for this, they don't protect my feet very well. I will try to not put too much weight on it. I step down again, "ugh." I yelped out in pain and I step down again.

I look down again to see how high I am up. This is going to take a while. I finally step down on stand and I sigh in relief. I sit down and look at the bottom of my feet again. My shoes are ruined and take them off. Well these aren't good anymore and I throw them to the side. I look at the bottom of my feet, they are scrapped and some cuts have a little bit of blood but nothing major.

I get up and run over to the ocean. I step into the water and I wince a little bit as the salty water gets into my cuts. Well time to go fishing, I go into the water and walk the ocean floor until the water is up to my waist.

The water isn't very clear from here. I take a deep breath and go under water. I look around for fish but don't see any. I go back up for air, I pull my air out of my face and catch my breath. I continue for that for a while and I still don't see any fish.

I look up back to the beach and I see that my shoes are gone.

"Where did my shoes go?!" I yell.

Did they get washed away from the waves? Ugh will now I have to go bare foot from now on.

I continue to look for fish, I don't see any. The sun is starting to go down. Ugh I have to go back to camp before it gets too dark.

I walk out of the water and climb back up the mountain. The sharp rocks are hurting my feet as I try not to put too much pressure on them or they might get cut. I climb up the hill and I step on the grass. Well my feet will be fine from now on. The rest is all grass. I follow my trail back to camp.

I arrive to my tent, and lay down. I look at the bottom of my feet and they have scratches but not enough to draw blood. Thank god.

The sun has set and the stars are starting to come out. I never seen this many stars before, and they are so bright.

I lay down on my back and look at them all in awe. Where is the moon? It's not dark enough for it come out set I think. My eye lids get heavy and I close my eyes. I lay there in silence as I listen to the birds chirping. The sound of nature sets me to sleep.
