Celestria POV
I peak my head out of the house at the sound of a horse huffing. Viserys is pressed against my chest, my warmth keeping him from growing cold in the winter air. "Oh, hey Yarpin," I greet with a smile, my fingers clasped behind Viserys' back.
"Well aren't you glowin', you ain't pregnant again are you?" He teased only to receive a rolling of my eyes. He chuckles as I continue to approach the cart.
"I'm not pregnant you arse," I laugh, patting Viserys back as I watch Geralt, Yennefer, Ciri, and Corina empty the cart. "What are you lot talking about anyway?"
"Springs almost here," Yarpin sighs with a smile. "The whole world is wakin' up. Our Belleteyn is just down the valley. You should come,"
"I'd love to," Ciri says with a smile, finally excited to get away from the solitude that has become her life.
"Absolutely not,"
"It's not safe,"
"Bad idea,"
"How 'bout no?"
Cirilla stares at her four guardians as they all voice their protest to Yarpin's offer. We all look at each with slight surprise out agreeing opinions. "Well, no one's asked about me for months. And everyone will be in costume," She pauses, her smile growing. "And...I was born on Belleteyn,"
"Ah! You'd of had a shot at bein' May Queen," Yarpin's remarks matter-a-factly. "Except my niece's beard is comin' in nice and full this year," He and Cirilla share a laugh, to which Geralt silences with a mere look as he walks past the two. "Just say yes already! About time for a fuckin' thaw around here,"
I step closer to Ciri and Geralt, knowing she's gonna ask again. "I promise I'll be safe," Her eyes bounce between the two of us. I sigh heavily as I stare back at her, my heart aching with how much she is growing to look like Pavetta. Her eyes lock onto me, knowing I'll break much easier than Geralt.
I turn to my husband whom is already giving me a look. "What's the worst that could happen?"
