First Date :: Blink-182
Can I swim in your eyes on a hot summer day?
It was the day of the date and to say Michael was nervous was an understatement. He had changed his shirt three times until he finalized that his Metallica tank would have to do. He paired it with black skinny jeans and black Converse. (You could say black was his thing.)
It was 4:59 PM when his doorbell rang. His heart sped up - he hadn't been on a proper date since Calum, and well, that didn't end so well. "Coming!" He shouted, rushing to the front door, shoving away all thoughts of his dick of an ex-boyfriend.
"You look beautiful," Luke said as soon as Michael swung the door open.
"Okay, I didn't even have the door halfway open when you started to say that," Michael's cheeks flushed. "But - thanks. You don't look too bad yourself."
"Are you ready to go, babe?"
"I - er, just let me get my wallet."
"No need to, I'll pay."

"And then he said, it's not going to say hello, it's a cow, Luke!" Michael was laughing so hard he couldn't breathe, doubled over the table. Luke thought it was the most beautiful sound and sight to see. It even beat the oceanview they had at Gators Cafe and Saloon.
"Oh, god, that's hilarious," Michael breathed as he finished his hysterics. "Did you really expect the cow to say hi to you?"
"No, but the question stated that it was a talking cow, therefore, it could've said hi to me!"
Michael reached across the table and patted Luke's hand gently, smirking. "Whatever you say."
"You did not just mock me," Luke mirrored his smirk, eyebrows raised. Michael thought he looked so hot.
"Oh, but I did."
Luke just intertwined their hands and winked at the younger boy, causing his cheeks to redden. The waitress approached with the two waters they ordered and pulled her notepad out of her apron.
"What would you boys like to eat?"
Michael's mind reeled, and he knew what he wanted, but he couldn't form the words. He always had trouble with these kinds of things - ordering food, talking on the phone, doing adult stuff. He wished he was a kid so someone could order for him.
"I'll have the turkey club and he'll have the caesar salad," Luke stated politely, handing their menus to the waitress. She nodded and left the table.
"So, tell me about yourself, Michael."
"Um, I - I'm Michael," He realized what he had said and blushed harder, if that was even possible, and mentally face palmed. "That was stupid, I'm sorry, I-"
"Mikey, it's okay. Go on." Luke smiled his stupid, reassuring, adorable smile and Michael felt safe.
"There's not much to tell.. I'm eighteen, I'm from Australia. I moved here last year and it's beautiful and I adore it. I play the guitar and sing a little, but I'm not any good.. I enjoy reading and I think painting is pretty neat. Oh and, you know this one, but I love the ocean and anything that has to do with it."
"Why did you move here?"
Michael used the same excuse he did whenever someone asked him that, "Just wanted to start somewhere fresh." But that was far from the truth, yet the truth was too much for him to spill. "Now, tell me about yourself." He hated talking about himself - he thought he was so incredibly boring.
"I'm Luke, I'm twenty years old, I'm also from Australia. I moved here almost four years ago, so my accent is fading a bit. I also like to play the guitar and sing - I'm sure you're good. I've been working at Hubbard's Marina since I moved here." Luke shared his bit, also thinking how incredibly boring he was. "Have you ever been in a relationship before, Michael?"
"I - um, I don't.." Michael took a deep breath, forcing a small smile. "I'd rather not talk about that right now. I'm sorry."
"No, I understand," Luke responded. "I respect that. I'm here if you do want to talk about it though."
"Yeah.. thank you."

"Isn't your boss going to kill you if he finds out you took one of these boats? When you're not working?" Michael questioned, sitting in his usual spot on the boat, looking out and admiring the close-to-sunset.
"My boss is the one who told me the cow isn't going to say hello," Luke chuckled. "His name is Ashton. But no, he won't kill me. We're actually really good friends. He'll let it slide just this one time."
Michael let out a breath of relief he didn't even know he was holding. "Good. I don't want you getting fired."
"You'd miss your favorite tour guide, wouldn't you?" Luke teased, getting the boat running.
"You're so cocky."
"I do have a big cock, if that's what you-"
"Hey!"
Luke let the boat rest in a perfect spot to view the sunset and sat beside Michael, tugging him over so his back was pressed against his chest. He stiffened at first, but relaxed into the elder's touch. "What? You don't give blowjobs on the first date?"
"Just shut up and enjoy the sunset!" Michael giggled, but stopped himself. He hated his laugh and he despised when he giggled. Girls giggle - not men like him.
"Don't stop yourself," Luke whispered. "It's cute." He brought his hands to Michael's side and furiously started tickling him, giggles upon giggles emitting from the boy's mouth. "Oh my gosh, you're adorable!"
"No - I'm - not!" Michael yelled, trying to regain his breath. Once he did and the tickling was over, he leaned back into Luke's chest and sighed.
"Why the sigh? Did you not have fun?" Luke pressed, worried he had ruined it.
"No, no, I did have fun," Michael hastily answered. "I had so much fun, Luke. It was a happy sigh."
Luke had one hand on Michael's waist, and the other in his hair, mindlessly playing with the gorgeous black hair. "Do you want to do this again soon? A second date?"
"I - yeah, I'd like that.." Michael bit back a grin. "Let me pay this time?"
"Hmph.. I guess so, if you insist." Luke huffed dramatically. "But I'm still picking you up, my love."
Michael's insides turned and flipped at the nickname, so small, but meaning so much. He knew he was moving too fast with Luke, and he didn't want him to break his heart like Calum did - but he couldn't help himself - Luke was such a charmer, those blue eyes that reminded him of the ocean he loved so much, the dimples he wanted to poke, the lips he wanted to kiss roughly.
He wanted Luke to be different than Calum, but he didn't know if he was going to be.
"Works for me," Michael finally said. "The sunset is so stunning."
"It may be stunning, but nothing will ever beat how stunning you are."
Neither boy thought it was possible, but Michael blushed harder with every comforting, sweet word Luke said to him. And maybe with every kiss he pressed to his forehead too, but no one had to know about those.
You've been introduced to Calum!
Have a good day, my loves.
