"Well if they-a won't trust me then I-a will go find-a Germany myself!" My blood boiled. I checked all the nearby bars and Prussia's house before reaching the last bar of the night all the way by the country side. I felt like I was going crazy, the same way a mother felt when she lost her kid. I hoped he knew how many bars I searched with drunk men and women climbing all over me to find him! It was terrible! This one man kept trying to kiss me until the bartender told him to leave!! "Ya right-a fish lips I'm-a saving mine for-a Germany!!!" My face became super heated at the thought. "For Germany..." I touched my lips. I put my hand on the door and opened it. My final bar visit (I wasn't going to stop searching though just because I ran out of bars to search!). I looked around and saw two drunk large men in the middle brawling. It was Germany and another large man. Germany already had some cuts on his face and arms from the broken bottle the other man was holding and the other man had bruises all over. A black eye, broken nose, the whole nine yards. "Hey!!!" A man yelled in the crowd. Germany looked in the direction of the voice, unaware that he was going to be stabbed by a bottle by the man in front of him. I lunged myself forward and threw myself in front of Germany, hugging him tight as the glass pierced my back. In that moment Germany looked down at me with horrid eyes, connected with my smiling, open eyes. "Italy!!" I heard him shout before I fainted. I woke up in the hospital, my chest bandaged and burning. Sitting up I saw Germany asleep in the chair next to me, his head resting on my lap and his hand firmly holding mine. My heart fluttered when I noticed this. Thinking about last night I was angry he left, but glad he was ok. I took notice of all the bandages he had. Emotion surged in my head as I combed my fingers through his hair with my free hand. "It's much softer than I imagined..." Germany awoke while I was in the middle of sorting through my thoughts. His eyes fluttered open and his icy blue eyes met mine. I removed my hand from his hair out of embarrassment, "Please continue..." I heard him softly say. His cheeks tinted pink and he wouldn't look me in the eye. "Ok." I smiled at him, crying tears of joy.

For a couple minutes I sat there happily stroking my hand through Germany's blonde hair. I felt so happy and at peace until I remembered yesterday. My eyes glossed but I wasn't going to cry. "I kept-a my promise." I quietly remarked. "Vhat?" He turned his head up. "I told you I-a wouldn't leave you. I kept-a my promise." His expression turned to sorrow. "I'm sorry Italy, jou vent through this because of me." He looked so empty, his breathing hitched. "I'm sorry I broke my promise." "You-a didn't break your-a promise." He looked at me confused. "You never -a promised me, this was-a a one sided promise. For-a me not to leave you. But I-a came for you." I smiled. "He nearly lost it, his eyes glazed over, "Italy," he looked at me holding up my hand that was held in his so long and locked our pinkies. "I promise I won't leave you either." He put his forehead against my hand and closed his eyes. I remember what Prussia told me:
(Flashback to when Italy was still trying to find Germany.)
"When you find him he might end up an unawesome wreck." Prussia was picking at his teeth. I just stared, "Well ya he just-a walked off. Then again this is-a Germany so is he really going to-a be a wreck?" "But," Prussia interrupted my thoughts. "There is a way to calm him down, I did this since he was little." He paused for the suspense. "Sing to him." "S-Sing?!" I expected an answer saying he was just joking, but he never responded that way. "Or hum, that works just as well. Any time works."

I had him scoot over still holding my hand, and hugged his head to my chest so he could hear my heart beat, the same way he held me when I cried not too long ago. I started to hum a tune off of the top of my head, no song in mind. His breathing slowed and his eyes closed. As he fell asleep a small smile crept on his face and thought to myself, "He should-a smile more often, he looks-a handsome this way."
