Evading Darkness

dreaming.

I jumped up with tears rushing down my face staining my cheeks as they rolled down, thinking about what I had just dreamt about.

About 3 minutes later I'd finally stopped crying and wiped away the wetness that covered my face. Looking around I saw I was in a little Grey room but not the like the room I was trapped in before, this room made me feel safe and comfortable.

It had gotten me thinking about JC.

Was she alive or dead on the ground torn apart being eaten by some disturbed infected flesh eater?

"You shouldn't have left her." I told myself

I stood up fast but sat back down faster when the stinging in my side came back

"You shouldn't get up, it'll just be worse on your side."

I turned my head fast hurting my my neck but not caring to see a boy. A boy who looked to be about my age and he was wearing a sheriffs hat.

"Who are you and where am I?" I asked demanding an answer

"We found you in the woods on the ground. Luckily you weren't bitten but you were shot." He said staring into my eyes

I broke the stare and looked down at my side. It was all cover up with some white cloth stained in blood.

"Um do you want water or something to eat?" The boy asked clearing his throat.

I was pretty hungry but he was a stranger and I'd rather not take the chance of poisoned or even killed

"No thanks." I said fakely smiling while still looking at my side

I looked back up to see the boy was gone

"No goodbye?" I whispered to myself.

Okay so, super bad short uninteresting chapter. I apologize. It will get better but school is just now starting out to I'm pretty busy and didn't have enough time to write anything good. I know, I'm terrible at this with all my excuses but I'll continue to update. It might be a while between updates so I can make sure to have a good long update for you next time.
