Evading Darkness

Rising and Falling

I've been in the dark for as long as I can remember. Although i cant remember a lot some memories are still with me.

Memories of my mom, dad, brother, all my relatives.

I sighed and stood up feeling around on the cold solid walls trying find anything I can use to escape.

"its no use Riley we've looked everywhere since we've been here. Just give up cause were not leaving any time soon."

"At least I'm trying right? J, he's still out there looking for me, looking for us and you wanna just give up? You've gotta have hope if were ever gonna get out of here at all, I'm tired of being fed 3 times a week and barely surviving. I'm hungry and thirsty and sick." I yelled with tears started to sting my cheeks

"No he's not Riley, he's DEAD! D.E.A.D nobody is looking for us they are all DEAD! She yelled slowly turning it into a whisper

"Shh" I interrupted her

"Did you hear that?"

"I can't hear anything but you and your loud mouth. Riley please I don't know if I can last if he comes bac-

"there it is again!" I turned to the noise seeing nothing but darkness.

It was a soft Clanking noise but I couldn't quit tell what it was.

A loud bang came from the left of me then the door flung open causing me to jump back slamming my head into the cement feeling wall

I Slowly looked up slightly blinded from the light...to see nobody? To hear no more clanking?

Why was the door just sitting open?

"J we gotta go." I whispered with my voice shaking slightly knowing it probably wouldnt be a good idea

"J?" I said a little louder

I swung around to the feeling of someone grabbing my shoulder, someone being Jc.

"Its a trap, you can't trust it, they're just testing you. Whether you pass or fail there going to kill you."

"I can't be here any longer." I jerked her arm away from me and ran to the light

"Dont stop running and dont look back its her choice if she comes or not." I thought to myself

Trees were all i could see anymore, trees and ground and it was quiet, apart from the noise I made while running. Happiness started to flood through me. I was gonna make it to him. I was finally gonna escape, finally gonna be free again

Suddenly a *BANG* rang through the air and a sharp pain in my side caused me to slam to the ground. Everything around me was becoming a blur. The only happiness I could feel was gone, jc was gone, and the memories of my father were gone, all washed away by blood pouring out of my side all I could think about was death and then the world started fading and I was now drifting in and out of consciousness. It seemed like hours have pasted. Hours off me just laying here losing blood.

"Help me grab her hurry but be careful of her side looks like she's been shot."

Voices? Was I hearing voices? I tried to speak but nothing came out.

I wanted so bad to be able to scream and shout "My side, please just make the pain go away. Kill me..leave me for the walkers I dont want to live I dont deserve to live, just kill me!"

"We need to get her to Hershel."

"Please." I cried in my head

"please, just kill me."

Then suddenly but Slowly the pain faded away and darkness took over.
