He's hopeless, absolutely and blissfully wrapped around the other's finger. Hyunjin doesn't even realise how effortlessly he's burrowed into the Aussie's heart, sketching himself into every corner like a masterpiece that no one else could create.
Felix gently tilts the taller's chin up with two fingers, catching his boyfriend's wide, slightly shy eyes.
For a moment, they simply hold each other's gaze, and he feels his heart squeeze with love and gratitude. It's crazy how one person can make his entire world feel brighter, safer, and just right.
Whatever sting he might have felt earlier from Hyunjin's rejection is now completely forgotten. Felix only feels love, and the overwhelming certainty that he has fallen for the artist all over again.
Brushing a strand of hair from Hyunjin's face, the Aussie smiles as he suggests,
"Jinnie… now that we're officially together, how about we spend this whole week doing something just for us? Dates, bonding, you and me — before we have to leave for Busan and all that duty stuff takes over. What do you say?"
There's a brief pause, and Felix notices the tiny flicker of hesitation in Hyunjin's eyes right away. His boyfriend's expression shifts to the one of guilt, his lips parting like he's trying to find the right words.
Felix feels his chest constrict, bracing for what he fears might be another polite rejection.
'Maybe he's still feeling overwhelmed; maybe it's too soon to ask for more of his time. Be positive, Felix.'
He starts mentally preparing to reassure Hyunjin that it's okay, even if his heart aches a little at the idea of being turned down again.
But before Felix can overthink it any further, the taller's face blooms into a wide grin, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Sounds like a plan," he chirps cheerfully, his tone brimmed with enthusiastism. "Of course, Lixie! How could I say no to my sunshine?"
Felix momentarily freezes, his brain trying to catch up with the sudden change in the other's behaviour. It takes him a beat too long to connect the dots and realise that the dramatic hesitation had just been a cheeky trick, which was meant to mess with him.
And judging by the way Hyunjin's grin is quickly turning into poorly suppressed giggles, the drama king is clearly enjoying himself.
"Oh, you think you're funny, don't you?" the Aussie says, his tone deadpan as he narrows his eyes.
The other doesn't even try to deny it, his shoulders shaking with laughter as he scoots backward, feigning innocence.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack with that fake-out!" He further accuses.
"Your face was priceless, though!" Hyunjin teases, clutching his stomach as his laughter spills out in waves. "I should've taken a picture. No wait, I can sketch it later!"
Felix arches a brow, lips twitching as he tries to hold back his own smile. "Oh, you're so asking for it now."
Before the taller can react, he launches himself at his boyfriend, tackling him onto the bed. The impact sends them tumbling, limbs tangled and the pillows threatening to topple off. Hyunjin shrieks with laughter as Felix' hands find his sides, fingers mercilessly tickling him.
"Lixie! No! Stop... stop!" Hyunjin gasps between fits of giggles, squirming beneath him but failing to escape. His laughter echoes through the house, high-pitched, loud and absolutely contagious, and Felix can't help but laugh along.
"This is what you get for messing with me," the shorter says, grinning wickedly as he continues his attack. "Admit defeat, Jinnie! Or suffer the consequences."
