"Love isn't about being perfect for each other; it's about embracing each other's imperfections and finding peace in them."

The hum of the espresso machine filled the kitchen as Franco prepared his morning coffee. Outside, the streets of Monaco were already buzzing, the city waking up to another crisp January day. Angelys leaned against the counter, Koda curled at her feet, his tail wagging lazily in the warm sunlight streaming through the window.

Franco glanced at her, his smile soft. "Are you coming to the paddock this weekend?"

Angelys hesitated, her fingers idly tracing the edge of her mug. The thought of returning to the F1 world—its blinding lights, its constant scrutiny—made her stomach twist. It wasn't that she didn't want to support Franco; it was that the glamour and chaos of it all reminded her too much of the life she'd left behind.

"I'm not sure," she admitted, her voice quieter than she intended.

Franco paused, his brow furrowing as he studied her. "You don't have to if you're not ready," he said gently. "I just thought you might want to come. Carmen and George will be there, too."

She forced a small smile. "I'll think about it."

But even as the words left her lips, a knot tightened in her chest. Franco deserved someone who could stand beside him without hesitation, someone who could navigate his world with ease. And yet, she couldn't shake the feeling that she didn't belong there.

Later that day, Carmen stopped by the apartment, her energy filling the room like a burst of sunshine.

"Angelys!" she exclaimed, pulling her into a tight hug. "You look amazing. Monaco is clearly treating you well."

Angelys laughed softly, the warmth of Carmen's presence momentarily easing her tension. "It's been nice. Quieter than I expected, actually."

"That's Franco's influence," Carmen teased, plopping down on the couch and scratching Koda behind the ears. "He's got this whole 'calm and steady' vibe that's impossible to resist."

Angelys sat beside her, tucking her legs beneath her. "It's true," she said, her voice tinged with affection. "He's been incredible."

Carmen's smile faded slightly as she tilted her head, her gaze thoughtful. "But?"

Angelys sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I don't know. Sometimes it feels like I'm...out of place. Like I'm this outsider trying to fit into a world that isn't mine."

Carmen leaned forward, her expression softening. "You're not an outsider, Angelys. You're part of Franco's world now, and trust me, he wouldn't have it any other way."

"But what if I'm holding him back?" Angelys asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "What if I'm too much of a mess to be the person he needs?"

Carmen reached for her hand, squeezing it gently. "You're not a mess. You're human. And Franco doesn't need someone perfect—he needs you. The real you."

That evening, Angelys found herself on the balcony, the city lights reflecting off the calm waters below. She wrapped her arms around herself, the cool breeze brushing against her skin.

Franco joined her a few moments later, his presence grounding her like it always did. "You've been quiet today," he said softly.

Angelys hesitated, her gaze fixed on the horizon. "I've just been...thinking. About everything. About us."

He leaned against the railing beside her, his dark eyes steady and unwavering. "What about us?"

She swallowed hard, the words catching in her throat. "I just...I don't know if I fit into your life the way I should. You have this incredible career, and I don't want to be the reason you—"

"Stop," Franco interrupted, his tone firm but gentle. He turned to face her fully, his hands resting on her shoulders. "Angelys, you're not a reason for anything except the best parts of my life. You being here? It's not a distraction or a burden. It's everything I didn't know I needed."

Tears pricked at her eyes, but she blinked them away, her chest tightening with emotion. "But what if I can't keep up?"

"You don't have to keep up," Franco said, his voice softening. "You just have to be here. With me. That's all I need."

The sincerity in his words broke something loose inside her, and she nodded, leaning into him as he wrapped his arms around her.

Inside, Koda barked, pawing at the glass door to join them. Franco laughed, pulling back just enough to kiss the top of her head. "I think someone's ready for bed."

Angelys smiled through the lingering tears, her heart lighter than it had been in days. For the first time in a long time, she felt like she wasn't running away from anything—she was running toward something real.
