Dark Obsessions (Emma Myers X Jenna Ortega)

Chapter nine

Stuttgart, Germany - 11:45

The moment Emma spots Jenna walking into the very building Emma is meant to be heading into, she knows that there is bound to be another confrontation. Since Austria, it seems as if Emma cannot quite shake Jenna off her tail. Emma has had eight jobs since then, and for four of them, Jenna had been present as the opposition. It's baffling really, how they seem to be colliding on the job over and over now that they've met, and in their last encounter in Madrid, Emma had accused Jenna of targeting her.

"Oh don't flatter yourself," Jenna had scoffed, even as her foot made contact with Emma's ribs,

"If the League wanted you dead I would have killed you in Moscow."

Neither of them are really trying to kill the other, though Emma had been particularly pleased during her last job to see that Jenna had in fact scarred from the knife Emma had slashed just above Jenna's left eyebrow in Madrid. The mark will likely be gone in another month, but it more than made up for the bruised ribs Jenna left Emma with in Greece. It's been about four months since Emma found Jenna that evening when she was on the elevator, and Emma is nothing but furious to see Jenna here yet again. Somehow she's not even surprised at this point. Seeing as there appears to be a fifty-fifty chance that Jenna might show up on the job, Emma's just resigned herself to it by now.

The only thing that appears to have changed is that Jenna is no longer going after Emma's contacts, something she greatly appreciates seeing as Emma rarely keeps two in the same region. Each time they meet though, Jenna is there with that overly flirtatious attitude and that never failing smirk. Emma really hates that it gets to her. She hates that she sees that look on Jenna's face and can't help but think about Moscow, something that Jenna has not brought up since Emma threatened her in Madrid.

But today Emma is here for a job, so she shoves all of that from her mind before stepping out from under the awning and heading towards the building. The man Emma's here for today is the CEO of this security company and he has information regarding a secret collaboration between MI6 and Scotland Yard. So far, he's kept it to himself, only having gained the information through word of mouth. However his company is vast and expansive, and with the resources he has at his dispersal, this could quickly get out of hand.

So Emma's here to kill him. She did of course try threats first, but those hadn't worked. Seeing as the more tame options failed, Emma's brought along one of her favourite subtle weapons of choice. It's an umbrella that contains a needle tip at the very point. This had been a gift from Henry when Emma graduated from training. Just a single prick from the needle and twelve hours later, Peter Bauer will be in a form of cardiac arrest that he won't be able to recover from.

Watching on as Jenna and Peter enter the building together, Emma slides her sunglasses back up her nose before carefully crossing the street. She can see them both through the glass doors, standing there just outside the elevator. This time around Emma has no idea what Jenna is doing her or what her play is, but Emma came here to do this job and she is not going to let Jenna win. Inside the lobby, Emma lingers to the side as they step onto the elevator, the doors sliding shut behind them.

With her umbrella tucked under her arm, Emma keeps an eye on the floor number displayed above the doors. The elevator stops on the twelfth floor, and Emma hums to herself before making her way to the stairway. She will not be caught by Jenna in another damn elevator, not after what happened two months ago in London where they had fought each other while actively going up the lift. Jenna had been there to kill Emma's target once again, and thankfully Emma had won that round.

Inside the stair well, there are two heavily armed guards that stand just at the base of the steps. Seeing as this is a security company, Emma has to be careful here and she knows it.
