Aurora leaned back on the bed, her hair fanning out against the plush pillows . The sight of her sprawled out, her lips swollen from his kisses, made him curse under his breath. If it weren’t for the urgency of the call, he’d have ignored it entirely.
“De Luca,” he answered curtly, pacing to the window as he ran a hand through his tousled hair.
Aurora watched him, her eyes tracing the lines of his back and the way his muscles tensed beneath his shirt. His commanding tone sent a shiver down her spine, a stark reminder of the power he wielded in his professional life.
“No, that’s not acceptable,” Lorenzo said firmly into the phone. “I told you I wanted the contract reviewed by tonight. I don’t care if it’s late. Make it happen.”
Aurora bit her lip, a mixture of amusement and frustration bubbling within her. He was undeniably sexy when he was in control, but she couldn’t deny the sting of being interrupted. Still, she took the moment to admire him, the way his presence seemed to dominate the room effortlessly.
Lorenzo ended the call with a sharp, “I’ll expect an update in an hour,” before tossing the phone back onto the nightstand. He turned to Aurora, his expression softening as his eyes met hers.
“Sorry about that,” he said, his voice lower now, tinged with regret.
She arched an eyebrow, propping herself up on her elbows. “Should I be offended that work comes before me?”
“Never,” Lorenzo said, crossing the room in a few strides. He climbed onto the bed, hovering over her with a wicked smile. “Let me make it up to you.”
Aurora laughed softly, her hands sliding up his chest as he leaned down to kiss her. The kiss was slow at first, a deliberate tease that made her toes curl. His hands slid along her sides, brushing against her bare skin and sending sparks through her body.
“You’re overdressed,” she whispered against his lips, tugging at his shirt.
Lorenzo smirked, sitting back on his knees to strip off the offending garment. Aurora’s breath hitched as her eyes roamed over him, the defined lines of his chest and the way his jeans hung low on his hips. He leaned down again, his hands bracing on either side of her as his lips found the sensitive spot just below her ear.
“Better?” he murmured, his voice like velvet.
“Much,” she managed, her fingers threading through his hair as his lips continued their slow, torturous descent.
The outside world faded into oblivion as their bodies moved together, the tension from earlier melting away. Lorenzo’s touch was both gentle and demanding, a careful balance that left Aurora breathless and wanting more. His lips explored her skin, leaving no inch untouched while his hands gripped her hips, pulling her closer to him.
Aurora’s mind swam in a haze of desire, every nerve in her body attuned to Lorenzo. The way he looked at her, as if she were the only thing that mattered, sent her heart racing.
“Lorenzo,” she whispered, her voice trembling with anticipation.
He paused, his forehead resting against hers as he caught his breath. His eyes searched hers, a flicker of vulnerability hidden behind the heat.
“Tell me you want this,” he said, his voice barely audible.
Aurora cupped his face, her thumbs brushing against his cheekbones. “I’ve never wanted anything more.”
That was all the permission Lorenzo needed. He captured her lips in a searing kiss, his hands exploring every curve of her body as they gave in to the passion that had been simmering between them for weeks.
As the night deepened, the city lights cast a soft glow through the curtains, illuminating their intertwined bodies. The world outside continued to spin, but for Aurora and Lorenzo, time seemed to stand still.
They were lost in each other, their connection deepening with every touch, every whispered word. Lorenzo’s hands moved with purpose, his lips following a trail down her neck as Aurora arched beneath him.
The intensity of the moment was overwhelming, a perfect blend of heat and emotion that neither of them could resist. As their bodies moved together, the bond between them grew stronger, unspoken promises lingering in the air.
The hours slipped away unnoticed, the only sounds in the room, their ragged breaths, and the occasional murmur of each other’s names.
