Today I pet Argento for the first time. At first he growled and backed away. But I kept pushing and soon he was under my hand. Today I also got him up into the tree house. I spent all morning crafting a foldable ramp up to my tree house, and when it was done, he walked right up it! Then after supper I used the pelt of the deer we ate to make a little rug for him. He went outside anyway though. Whenever he needs to go out, he has taught himself to just howl. Not enough to be annoying, just enough to get himself noticed. He is a strangely smart animal. Sometimes it scares me. Actually it scares me a lot. Just today he saw me drop my pocketknife into the stream, and he bounded in and somehow picked it up without cutting his mouth or anything. Like I said, he is a really smart animal.
