The smell of breakfast filled the air as Mami hummed in the kitchen, her voice soft and steady
In the living room, DD sat back on the couch, scrolling on his phone, while Notti lounged next to him, smacking his gum every five seconds.
"Yo, when you gon stop smacking that flavor less gum?" DD asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Never," Notti replied, grinning. "Why you worried?"
Jay walked in, rubbing his hands together. "Man, it smells good in here. What Mami cooking?"
"go look," DD said, laughing.
Jay ignored him and headed for the kitchen. A moment later, Mami's voice rang out. "¡Jay! What are you doing? Get out of my kitchen!"
"Man, I'm just checking!" Jay called back, but when he returned to the living room, he had a piece of pancake in his hand.
DD shook his head. "You got no shame, bro."
He joked
"You mad or what?" Jay said, grinning.
"Nah, I'm good," DD replied.
Jay flopped onto the couch, glancing between his brothers. "So, who's Ciara?" he asked casually while eating his pancake that was almost gone.
DD and Notti froze, their eyes meeting for a split second before they both burst out laughing.
"Where you hear about her?" Notti asked, smirking.
"I hear things," Jay said, shrugging. "I may not be around all the time, but I stay in the know."
"Man, you barely even hang with us," DD said, shaking his head.
"Yeah, how you know anything when you always MIA?" Notti added.
"Y'all just haters," Jay said, throwing a pillow at them.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night," DD said, dodging the pillow and standing up. "I gotta go meet Ciara anyway."

Later, we were all at the basketball court. Naiya, Brianna, Zaza, and I sat on the sidelines, talking and watching the guys mess around. Every now and then, DD would glance over at me, his eyes locking with mine.
"Ma, you good?" he called out, walking over to me after sinking a shot.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I said, smiling up at him.
He leaned down, resting his hand on the bench next to me. "You sure?"
"I'm good," I said, laughing. "You gonna go back and play or just stay here?"
"I'm staying right here," he said, sitting down next to me.
"Aww, that's cute," Brianna teased, nudging me.
"Don't start," I said, laughing.
"You're just mad Kamari isn't doing the same for you," Zaza said, grinning.
"Oh, please. Kamari does enough," Brianna shot back, smirking.
"Yeah, like what? All he does is play games at home " Naiya asked, raising an eyebrow.
"None of your business," Brianna replied, making us all laugh.
Meanwhile, Kamari jogged over, wiping sweat off his forehead. "What y'all talking about over here?"
"Nothing for you," Naiya said, rolling her eyes.
"You good, Bri?" Kamari asked, ignoring Naiya as he leaned down to kiss Brianna's cheek.
"I'm good," she said, smiling up at him.
"Y'all too much," Zaza said, laughing.
"Speaking of too much," Naiya said, turning to Ddot, who was leaning against the fence. "What's this I hear about you and Zaza?"
"Wait, hold up," Brianna said, sitting up. "Y'all a thing?"
"Nah, it's not even like that," Zaza said quickly, though her face was turning red.
"Stop lying," DD said, shaking his head. "Ddot been feeling you. Everybody knows it."
"Yeah, and now y'all over here acting brand new," Notti added, smirking.
Ddot just shrugged. "Maybe I like keeping things private."
"Private?!" Naiya said, laughing. "Boy, you can't keep nothing private with us."
"That's facts," Brianna said, grinning. "Zaza, you better spill."
Zaza shrugged, trying to hide her smile. "There's nothing to spill."
"Uh-huh," Naiya said, shaking her head. "We'll see about that."

As the sun started to set, the jokes and laughter died down into quiet conversations. DD pulled me aside, his arm draped around my shoulders as we walked toward the sidewalk.
"You want me to drive you all the way home?" he asked, his voice low.
"mhm," I said, smiling up at him. "Naiya's coming with me tho."
"Alright, ma," he said, pulling me into a hug
DD walked with me to his car, his hand on the small of my back. Notti, Naiya, and Ddot were already piled into the backseat, talking and laughing.
Dd started the car and we were all having a good time. We listened to some music and stuff
As the car slowed down, DD pulled over to the curb, his hand gently resting on my thigh. We were just a few moments away from me and naiya getting out,
"You sure you don't want me to walk you to the door?" he asked, his voice low and smooth.
"I'm sure," I whispered, feeling a spark run through me. I was already smiling, from the way he was looking at me right now.
He turned toward me, his face inches from mine. The moment felt like it stretched forever, the world fading away until it was just the two of us. DD leaned in slowly, and I closed my eyes as his lips brushed against mine. At first, it was soft, gentle, like a promise. But then, DD deepened the kiss, pulling me closer, his hand sliding from my thigh to my waist.
The sounds from the backseat suddenly broke through the moment.
"Eww, y'all doing the most in the front," Notti said, his voice loud and teasing. "Save some for later, nigga."
"Right? It's a car, not a movie theater," Ddot added, laughing. "Y'all better calm down."
Naiya said adding in
I pulled away from DD, trying to suppress a laugh, but DD just rolled his eyes, a grin tugging at the corner of his mouth.
"Yo, y'all need to chill," DD said, his voice playful but still warm.
"Whatever," Notti said, making a gagging noise. "Just don't bring that mess up in here again."
I couldn't help but laugh, and DD gave me a look, his lips curling into a mischievous smile. He quickly kissed my forehead.
"You good?" he asked softly.
"I'm good," I whispered, smiling back at him.
he was still smiling as he pulled away and turned to me. "Text me when you're in, alright?"
"I will," I promised, still smiling
We got out of the car
"Bye yall" naiya said as they drove away and we went in the house to see Brianna, Kamari and my dad at the couch
