"Mom, I'm home!" I yell as I swing open the door to my little house. I never really think of my house as small, but the rich surrounding neighborhoods beg to differ. I hear no response to my greeting, so I go on a quick journey to the kitchen, where I find a note scribbled on the back of a receipt.
Elisabeth,
Gone to town with Taylor to pick up some things. Will be back around 4:00. Paige can come over if you want. Pizza rolls in freezer.
Mom
I grin at the thought of being home alone, even if it is for just a couple hours. I'm not in a Paige mood, but I am in a pizza rolls mood, so I microwave the little pieces of heaven, snatch up the plate, and skip happily to my room. I hardly ever get time to myself when I'm at home, because Taylor, mom's boyfriend, kind of sucks. His heart is in a good place, I think, but his extremely extroverted personality and designer clothes bug me. I'm pretty sure the reason mom is dating him is 50% his money, and 40% his looks, and, like, 10% his actual personality. Taylor is obsessed with me, I don't get it. He leaves my older sister alone when she's home from college. Whenever Taylor is around, he tries to engage me in games and conversations and stuff, when really all I want in life is to stay in my room, alone, reading, and eating pizza rolls. Now is probably the only time I'll get to do that for a while, so I might as well enjoy it. I scan my bookshelf. After a treacherously long search of 30 seconds, I decide on Twilight. I'm definitely in the mood for vampires. Oh yes.
Who else loves the Twilight series? It is so great when you're in the mood for a good, cheesy romance. What do you think of Taylor based on Lissy's description of him? Is he a good guy, or bad news? Let me know in the comments, and if you're enjoying If You Believe so far, hit that little star button and stay tuned!
