Anu

After breakfast, the three of us got ready to head out. I insisted Mom come along with us since it had been ages since she visited my parents' place. At first, she hesitated, but after some persistent nagging from my side, she finally gave in.

We also decided to stop by Gayu's place on our way back.

During the drive, Mom reminded us to pick up some sweets and snacks since my siblings would also be at home. "You know how they are," she said with a knowing smile. "No visit is complete without something to munch on."

We made a quick stop at a shop, choosing an assortment of their favorites, and then continued on our way. Thankfully, the roads weren't too busy, and we reached home in no time.

Mom was already waiting for us at the doorstep, and the moment she saw us, her face seemed to light up. I couldn't quite figure out why she was so excited, but her joy was contagious.

Papa came out shortly after, greeting Mom and Giri warmly. "Come in, come in," he said with his usual enthusiasm, ushering them inside.

Anitta was sprawled on the couch, clearly trying to get some rest. She looked tired—probably battling her morning sickness again. But, of course, our mischievous monkey of a brother was at it, pestering her relentlessly and not letting her have a moment's peace.

I walked over, rolled my eyes, and smacked the back of his head lightly, announcing my presence. "Cut it out, you little menace," I said, watching as he turned to me with a sheepish grin.

"Anu!" Anitta exclaimed, relief washing over her face. "Please handle him before I lose my mind."

My brother rubbed the back of his head where I smacked him, feigning a hurt expression. "Why is it always me? I'm just trying to keep her entertained!"

I raised an eyebrow. "Entertained? She's pregnant and trying to rest, not sign up for your circus."

Anitta let out a tired laugh, and I sat beside her, giving her a comforting pat on the shoulder. "How are you feeling?" I asked softly.

"Better now that you're here. Giri's here too, right?" she asked, glancing toward the door.

"Yeah, he's inside with Mom and Papa," I said. "They're probably already discussing something serious, knowing them."

Just then, my brother poked my arm. "By the way, what did you bring for me?"

"Nothing," I said with a deadpan look, watching his face drop dramatically. "Kidding! We got sweets and snacks, but if you don't behave, you're not getting any."

Anitta chuckled. "Finally, someone who can handle him." My brother crossed his arms, pouting dramatically. "You always side with Anitta. I'm the one who makes this house lively, and this is the thanks I get?"

I smirked. "Lively or chaotic? There's a fine line, monkey."

Anitta laughed softly, leaning back on the couch. "Honestly, Anu, I don't know how we've put up with him all these years. He's been insufferable since morning."

"Years of practice," I said, grinning as I ruffled his hair. "And don't worry, Anitta. He knows better than to try this nonsense with me."

He rolled his eyes. "Whatever. You two just gang up on me because I'm the only son of the house. Anitta, remember, I'm your elder brother."

Anitta raised an eyebrow. "Ahh! Then behave like one, Anish. You're about to get married, and you're still not done with your childishness."

Before I could chime in, Mom's voice echoed from the kitchen. "Anu! Anish! Anitta! Come here, tea's ready!"
