Hey, two updates in a week, you guys are lucky!

Anyway, I'm going on holiday in several days, so I'm putting up this chapter and I'm going to try and update again before I go, because I don't know if I'll have any wifi. But I will write more chapters while I'm away (or I'll try anyway, depends how busy I will be).

I find the end of the chapter is really sweet that it almost gave me toothache just writing it. I'm sorry it's so short though.

The picture is how they're sitting later on in the chapter (could you also please tell me if you can/can't see any of the pictures. Thank you).

"Low self esteem..." Ashton muttered, pacing at the bottom of Calum's bed. "What can we sing after that?"

It was a Friday after school, and they were all in Calum's room, trying to write more of their group song for Music. The only thing was, it was difficult to write words if there wasn't a beat to go by. Calum and Luke were sprawled out on the bed, Calum on his front and Luke lounging at the headboard absently playing Calum's acoustic guitar, both watching Ashton pacing with furrowed brows as he tried to think up the next line.

And that was what Michael had arrived to as he hesitantly stood in the doorway (Calum's mum, Joy, had let him in).

"Um... Hi..." He said awkwardly.

"Michael!" Ashton exclaimed, stopping his pacing to pull Michael into the room. "Finally, someone to actually help. These two are useless right now."

"We just got back from school!" Luke whined, a small pout on his lips.

Ashton smiled, "I know, babe." He turned back to Michael as he took the notepad out of Calum's hands and gave it to the other boy. "Any ideas for our next lines?"

Michael bit his lip as he took the notepad and looked over what they had already written. He moved to sit in the bed as he repeated the lines in his head, not noticing how Luke moved to make some space and also turned to watch him, continuing to play the guitar.

"You can repeat these lines. It sounds like it will flow." He pointed at the lines they used to end the first verse.

"But how do we know it will flow?" Calum asked.

Michael frowned down at the lines in front of him before getting distracted by Luke's guitar playing.

"Can you stop tha-" Michael cut himself off as he really listened to the notes being played. "No, wait. Keep playing. The same ntes you were playing before, in the exact same order and rhythm."

Luke looked at him strangely but did as he was told.

"Yeah, that's great! That can be the opening notes to the song!" Michael said enthusiastically. "Then we can add in another guitar right after it, doing the same riff, then start the singing." He quickly turned to a new page and wrote down the notes and the rhythm Luke had been playing.

"I get it. Figure out the chords and rhythm before trying to continue with words." Ashton said, nodding. "That's a good start."

Michael beamed at the curly haired lad before turning to Calum. "Calum, you can play bass?"

Calum got off the bed to pick up his only bass guitar from its stand in the corner of his room. "Yeah, I can play bass."

Michael nodded before looking back at Ashton, trying to figure out what he can play. Then he remembered how he was able to pick up a beat so easily back on Monday when they first started the project.
