After the collision, everything went black. [Y/N] found herself standing in the middle of nowhere.

Then, she noticed a blinking light—small, like a distant dot, but still a source of hope. Without hesitation, she took large strides toward it. As she ran, the light grew, expanding until it enveloped her completely in a bright white glow.

Suddenly, the sharp cry of a child pierced the silence.

[[Y/N] [L/N] has successfully got reincarnated]

That was eight years ago and currently, the young woman found herself standing in front of a Christmas tree with its colorful lights blinking merrily at her. She huffed, and a puff of smoke was created; she glanced at the young boy who was standing beside her, a wide smile plastered on his puffy face.

"I'll make sure you'll remember this day, forever!" He happily exclaimed and looked back at his friend.

[Y/N] nodded and gave him a small warm smile.

“Starting from today, there won’t be a day that you will not think of me! That’s my Christmas promise!” the young boy beamed and let his pinky out.

“That’s a promise, Suhyeok.”

The warmth of someone's hand pulled me back to my senses. Turning toward the source, my eyes met Suhyeok's gentle gaze. He gave my hand a reassuring squeeze and leaned in to whisper in my ear.

"Don't ever let go," he murmured, clasping our hands together and securing me in his safety.

After seeing the devastation outside, everyone was completely shattered, their hope fading fast. Jimin even tried to jump out the window after seeing the condition of her parents.

While the others were on the verge of giving up, I started regaining my memories. It hurt, a sharp pain piercing through my head, but I didn’t care. All that mattered was remembering everything, especially the time I spent with him.

Namra came up with a plan for us to rescue Cheongsan and make it to the rooftop as safely as possible. It was risky, but everyone was willing to take the chance.

We are now slowly making our way out, trying to be as silent and sneaky as possible because of a zombie that was left in the hallway.

But someone just has to drop their water bottle.

We watched as the zombie slowly looked our way; I nervously went to grab Woojin’s hand, who was in front of me, waiting for someone to say…

“RUN!” Suhyeok shouted and we hastily made our way to the stairs, Woojin gripping my hand to avoid accidentally letting me go.

When I realized that Suhyeok was not with us, I pulled myself away from Woojin. He stopped, and I gave him my “just in case” bag. He gave me a confused look but accepted it either way.

“I’ll go get Suhyeok,” I told him and ran to the other side; shouts of disagreement were heard from him, but I brushed it off and ran back to him.

When I reached the stairs, I was met by a bleeding Namra and Suhyeok getting beaten on the ground.

I grabbed the broken wood on the floor and stabbed his neck, but that unsurprisingly didn’t work on him because he looked around and grabbed my neck, choking me till I lost my breath.

“I see, you’re still hanging out with her,” Gwinam spoke with a taunting voice. “You’ve always been by her side, I want to see how hurt you’ll be if I kill her right before your eyes.”

I couldn’t react when something sharp pierced my side. Gwinam let me go, and I collapsed to the floor. My ears began to ring, Suhyeok’s cries barely audible through the muffled haze. I turned slightly, clutching my side as pain shot through me, blood pooling on the cold steps beneath me. The dizziness was overwhelming, and just as everything started to blur, I felt someone lift me.

“An MC that doesn't have any plot armor? That's unfair.”

[Y/N] watched as the harsh droplets of the rain reached the ground.

Mr. Lim told her that he would be late for a few minutes because of the traffic but it's already been half an hour when he called her.

She just finished having a practice match with the other school, tired is a small word to describe what she was feeling right now.

Plus, the disappointment she felt when she saw Suhyeok hanging out with the school bullies, and also, early this morning, he confessed that he likes Namra; if this is not considered the worst day she had in her whole life, she didn't know what to call this.

“Where the hell did Gyeongsu go to? Stealing my umbrella in this harsh weather!”

She watched the guy beside her complain; his eyebrows scrunched together while he aggressively tapped his phone.

“Cheongsan, the MC of the series— well, I thought he was.”

“I was so heartbroken when I watched him die but right now, I don't feel any sort of connection. He feels like a stranger.”

“Because he is.”

“You can have mine.” [Y/N] cutted Cheongsan’s hushed whispers and offered the umbrella to him. “Here.”

The young man looked at her with wide eyes. He was about to say something, but the blinking of lights from the car that was on its way towards them caught his attention.

The said car stopped in front of them, and a man in casual attire stepped out with an umbrella. [Y/N] gently snatched Cheongsan's hand, handed him the umbrella she was holding, and greeted the man who just come out of the vehicle.

The two went inside the car, leaving the flabbergasted young student behind.

After all that happened, Suhyeok never lost his composure. He saw his classmates die in front of him multiple times in just two days, but he tried his best to keep calm and maintain a sense of responsibility and maturity for the safety of everyone.

Especially HER.

But at the moment, he had lost all the self-control that kept him going.

[Y/N]’s blood drops on the hallway floor as the three of them run toward where their classmates are. Namra opened the door so he could enter, the others watched in confusion as Suhyeok gently placed her friend's body on the ground, tears continuously falling as he tried to block the wound on her side.

Onjo was the first to react by opening the bag [Y/N] had been carrying throughout their journey, and fortunately, at the very bottom of the bag was a used uniform; she ripped the cloth into pieces, Cheongsam following her lead.

“Suhyeok, I want you to keep calm and follow my instructions,” Onjo said softly as the guy beside her nodded his head, afraid to say anything as his voice might fail her.
